Anyone else reading IDW Dredd?
Just received and read the last issue of False Witness
Good story, good art, right in main continuity, with a couple of tweaks could have slotted into the Prog or Meg with no problem
While I enjoyed the elseworlds IDW Dredd, looks like they've got some good "real" Dredd going at the moment

As IDW Dredd goes, I found this mostly agreeable stuff.
It's taken them quite a long to get anything approaching the standard of the Prog's Dredd, but this was certainly on its way to being so.
Lovely art and I wouldn't mind seeing this creative team taking another crack at it.

I think bringing it in Prog Dredd, not the Mega City Zero version, has improved their comics a lot

Their other version was enjoyable, but not really Dredd - three kid sidekicks...?

Yeah, it certainly seemed to lose its way the longer it went on and wrote itself into some narrative knots it never managed to get itself out of.
If this has been a reboot of sorts for the IDW version then it's a decent start.

I wonder what the overall sales were like, especially as the pandemic seemed to balls its release schedule up royally!

I saved them all up to read in one go, which I did today.

As far as IDW Dredd is concerned it was ok, I guess. It was certainly more readable than some of their efforts, but I thought Dredd just didn't act or speak like 2000AD Dredd.

For example there is no way Dredd would say things like: this is "beyond our ability to control"  or "I'll grant you a modicum of leniency". Nor would he turn a blind eye to illegal immigrants in exchange for information or discuss aspects of the case with a perp.

Also the plot where the children of Eden had to dissolved to get their genetic material makes absolutely no sense. Surely just taking a sample of their blood would do?

It actually started out well and I thought it would be a good caper, but it turned into a by the numbers police procedural set the near future. And not Really Judge Dredd.

Also I don't think Anderson was actually ever referred to by her name. So if you're not familiar with Dredd's world ( and given this is an America comic presumably that going to be a fair proportion of the readership) you might not realise who that was.

But if IDW do another series, I guess I'll still buy it.

Why? You've just said everything they've done up to now is poor, but you're willing to give them yet another chance?
