Big fan of Romero (whose name is spelt wrong on this KS page) and his work on Axa and Modesty Blaise but this doesn't seem a good campaign: aside from the expected high shipping and misspelling of the artists name the gimmick covers are awful, and any KS that runs 'nude variant' covers is something that should be avoided imo regardless.

You can generally pick up the Axa reprints that were done for the US market at reasonable prices second hand, and whilst the reproduction isn't the best in places they're still good.

JBC, I'm pretty sure I have the 1992 yearbook in a pile of neglected comics here and after your that post about your love and loss of it I'd love to send it to you. If you're interested PM me your address.

What about a pyramid of white chocolate skulls for old Tengri?

Sweets should be Love Hearts, obviously.

There's only a handful of situations where I would choose a dripping and bloody human heart over a nice box of sweets tbh, so you might be onto something there.

Seems smart to me also: a lot of comic creators are going this route now. Just on what we've seen so far I'd back this.

A couple of friends use Kickstarter for projects and have complained they take a decent cut of revenue, but the main challenge they've faced is promoting in failry saturated markets which I assume Rebellion will have no real issue with.

3 more weeks till I can get this tooth removed even with by going private, aaargh!

Can confirm a private dentist is a lot posher and nicer to visit than the NHS one (as more expensive, obvs)

That's grim news for you there Hawk, hope the health insurance covers the bulk of it. Wisdom teeth really really suck: mine have done a load of damage to my other teeth, and I'm not even wise to boot.

Hooray!

Thanks all. Anti-climatically the tooth was not extracted - I was referred to another dentist instead for a possible surgical extraction.

I'm sick of it now and have made an appointment with a private dentist tomorrow for a consultation. It's expensive but I'd only spend that money on comics and records.

I know its a very unpopular opinion but I think I prefer the Kek Indigo tales to John Smiths ones: the level of deliberate obfuscation appeals to me, and the horror levels are dialled back a bit.
I totally get why a lot of people aren't fans though.

Off to have a tooth out later.

This is the culmination of a saga that started back in November when one of my molars literally split in half after being messed up by the adjoining wisdom tooth. The dentist removed that, and in doing so damaged the tooth next to it. When that started hurting I went to the dentist no less than three times and they couldn't find anything wrong with it, so I just had to lump it rather than lose a potentially healthy tooth. Last year I remember taking a bagload of painkillers to Lawless.

I've never been so excited to go to the dentist!

NO GODS NO MASTERS

This is great. A refrain to live ones life to.

I can also confirm you definitely won't have a giant wait for a sketch. Everyone I've had one from at Lawless either did it there and then, or asked me to pop back later for it as I was there both days, and there's rarely a queue, more just a few guys hanging around the tables chatting. It's a really nice atmosphere.

Seconded on the cover, great stuff.

Dredd This is alright, digging the art, but the story is still lacking a lot of context and Dredd himself could be a different judge, flashback aside. It's not really sparking my interest beyond wanting to see the comedically large bear again - it feels more like an extended intro to an actual story, if that makes sense. We'll see where this goes next.

Aquila - With the story seemingly moving towards a climax, I definitely thought Felix was going to cop it here. Fast paced and brutal action, great stuff.

Brink - Some dudes talking in a room, setup stuff, classic Brink.

Indigo Prime - I really like this (agree that Depp is unwlecome though). It' the right side of incomprehensible, just one mad idea on top of another.

Proteus Vex - Highlight of the Prog again. One of my favourite episodes so far. There's a lot being told here, more than is narrated, I think. Love how the memory version of midnight mirrors the childs toy, and the little flesh pilot guys are amazing.

Strong Prog again for me.

That was a really good listen and has me tempted to go back to the Holmgard Press series.
