I've downloaded a few free fonts from Blambot. Now, on my old PC using windows xp and MS Word, I simply had to install the downloads and they became available in the font-list for Word, photoshop and all the other applications that used text.

However, I'm on a new Windows 7 PC and using Open Office. I downloaded and installed the fonts - but still unable to access them. Do I need to import them into OpenOffice? I've copied the files from the "downloads" folder into the "fonts" folder. (And am I the only one who find the explorer layout in win7 confusing? - XP showed everything in a simple root-tree format, but that's another gripe...)

if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

I considered hijacking your thread, but thought it a tad rude! Now I just need to download and learn GIMP!
