So get this - turns out Sydney Sweeney and Mia Goth are actually two different people.

Love the cover - McCrea for President.

Rogue is always a welcome addition to any Prog - providing it's not the standard rote one-off, as we have here.

Bring back Ennis if possible, and if not, I think Mike Carroll could proffer some very decent Thrillage.
Rennie, Kek-W or the non-commissioned Ruckly Droid would also provide safe chem-suited hands.

There's a movie on the horizon, and blue fever is about to hit approx 85 new readers - we need top talent on the strip.

We had it all.

Any one-off from the TB Grover era is worth a re-read.

'It Pays to be Mental' and 'Love Story' left indelible marks, and the most "recent" one-off to do so was 'Leaving Rowdy' from (oh sweet Jesus) 2002.

Anyway, I just dug up this thread to let ye know that my back-issue order of Meg 461 arrived last weekend, and that the recommendation was solid.
A really great one-off by Carroll & MacNeil.

Just the White Rabbit pages, eh?

Some of his Marvel work is also worth checking out, in particular his short stint on X-Factor.

Quote from: Tjm86 on 13 March, 2024, 08:00:32 AMCertainly nowhere near the nadir of John Bogdanove on Superman of that time

With you on the Zero Hour summarization, but I have always had a soft spot for Bogdanove's unusual style.
Certainly the most memorable aspect of that entire Superman era for me.

I'm currently reading the 3rd Astro City Metrobook - "The Dark Age".
This is the first time that the collection has reached a point of all new material for me, and I am blown away by the quality.
Set in the 70's / 80's grim & gritty era of Astro City it's the epic story of two brothers as friends, enemies, on opposing sides of the law and ultimately fighting together to facilitate their singular underlying purpose - revenge.
I have only two chapters left to go, and I don't want it to end. 10/10

Got an 80% thumbs-up Prog this week, so pretty much no complaints.

The Regened debate continues to be a wild ride, with a lot of you former Pro-Geners admitting you won't miss it.

The whole affair will be poorly regarded retrospectively I suspect - by the majority of us who will still be alive and well, and buying 2000AD, in the next decade and indeed the couple after that.

The only actual threats I see on the Prog's short to medium-term horizon are the cut-backs at the competent Script Droid production facility.

Pretty much identical to Dead Space.... nuff said..

I'm a Dead Space veteran but I only got about 2 hours into it before giving up - ruthlessly difficult!

Quote from: pictsy on 12 March, 2024, 09:06:36 AMInterestingly it's the only one of the Bioshock games I completed.  I got bored of the others incredibly quickly.

The first one impressed me the most design wise, but I enjoyed all three.
Hard to top that Cyndi Lauper Easter egg in Infinite though.

Just received a notification that Playdate have a software sale on at the moment.
Any recommendations?

Been playing Stardew Valley on and off for more than 6 years - on the Switch, laptop and phone, but primarily on Playstation.
Finally achieved the Platinum Trophy the other night ("Iridium Seal").
The elation lasted a record breaking 15 seconds before the usual life reevaluation pangs set in swiftly afterwards.

Also continuing dipping in and out of The Devil in Me by Supermassive - without a doubt the most disturbing one of the lot.

Quote from: Richard on 07 March, 2024, 05:02:00 PMSPOILER WARNING for Judge Dredd: Origins (because it's in the latest Complete Case Files)

Origins ended with Fargo pleading with Dredd to end the system he had created, but Dredd didn't do anything about it then and it wasn't followed up on. Then at the end of Day of Chaos it was obvious to everyone that Justice Dept had failed to protect the city. If neither of those events prompted Dredd to change his views, I'm not sure what else would.

Agree with this.
Fancifully mooted a few times on the Forum, but Day of Chaos felt like a natural end to the series.
Moreso as the years have passed.
