looks friken arsom I just wish they could give us more than 10 episodes a year always such a wait.
Being a book first reader I see so many favourite scenes and characters in that little snippet that I think this will be the best season yet.  Winter isn't coming, I'm f&*ken coming

After being out of the loop since it started I'm finally finally up to speed (with the series that is, although my Geoffery has read the books) - so I can watch these with understanding and without being utterly spoilt. Very exciting.

Just finished Season 4 and started on Season 5 but couldn't find a detailed thread about it.


Well it's pretty good stuff this. Am genuinely amazed at how they happily kill off major cast members (whether well loved or a wee shite) with apparently joyful abandon.  You (almost) never know who is safe from one scene to the next. 

The Nights Watch defending Castle Black against the Wildlings was a brilliant episode (and much better than the similar defence of Kings Landing). Really had a sense of personal conflicts being resolved and the fate of characters you care about hanging in the balance. (I barely cared about anyone in Kings Landing).

The whole Brenn and Hodor journey north is the only thing I don't like.  But I really dislike prophecy/"it was foretold" stuff in my fiction. Always strikes me as a lazy way of replacing proper character motivations.

I warmed to the chap that was Tyrion's champion though he was very, deliberately I suspect, Inago Montaya (sp) from Princess Bride.

They changed the pattern at the end of the season for a nice contrast  - normally the last shot is Dany and her increasing army and dragons but this was Arya looking increasingly alone.

But yeah, even the missus is watching and she only grudgingly watches these geeky things.
