For the conspiratorially minded...current edition of the 'German' Financial Times is now -for the first time- priced in Deutsche Marks along with the €uro exchange rate: 1.95.

Curious, given that that headline reads "There is no return".

Just a quick note of thanks to James for the progs I collected from him earlier this week. All were in great condition and they've filled most of the gaps in my 800s.

There's a Biff and Chip in the Magic Key stories.

That's right. With the possible exception of Thursday, I could pick them up any evening this week.

And I'd also like that 802 if it's still there.

If you've still got them, I'm definitely interested in 812 - 872.

I'd be suspicious of the professionalism of an organisation that a) doesn't check the spelling on it's front page and b) uses Comic Sans.

The company apperars to be a trading name of Harry Denford. This appears to be his website.

A book or ebook which may be of use to you would be "The Serious Guide to Joke Writing: How To Say Something Funny About Anything" by Sally Holloway. In the book, she goes through what she teaches in her comedy writing classes, mainly idea mapping and how to construct a joke.

If nothing else, it will provide background of what you should expect to get from a course.

I'll add my belated praise to Si and PJ, if I may.

Thanks for an intelligent and beautifully presented story.

My ancestor was the first victim of the first weapon (if I've quoted the Future Shock correctly).

Seriously, we're not an ambitious bunch.

Deleted scene from Return of the Jedi overdubbed with the cheeseburger scene from Pulp Fiction.

I might be well of the mark here however.

Actually, you are absolutely spot-on.

Prog 758 or recently reprinted in Complete Case Files 16.

I've had people tell me that Apocalypse War is excellent - but I've been warned that it's quite a tough story to be starting out on.

Pretty much the first Dredd story I read. An excellent story yes, but an unrepresentative one to start with.

Radiator is quite right to recommend "Mandroid" as it's fairly recent and pretty light on continuity. Some of the earlier Titan compilations may be a good starting point too.

Robot Moron from 'Robostory'

For years I couldn't find anyone else who had ever seen Robostory, or even heard of it. I was starting to think I'd imagined it till a couple of episodes appeared on Youtube :)

I used to love "Robostory" as well. Used to be one of the best things about Sunday mornings when I was younger.

Favourite moment was when White Wriggler had fouled up spectacularly and been demoted.  New White Wriggler gives hims grief causing him to mutter "Can't wait to see the look on your face when Revered Reverence calls you the lowest of the low".

Next scene: Revered Reverence and New White Wriggler "Always remember that Old White Wriggler was the lowest of the low".
