Anybody else catch the Moon pass Venus this evening?



I had to pick up a prescription earlier, and when I looked up I could see a bright object just above the moon. I had Radio 5 on in the car and they were talking about it (well, talking about all the texts and emails they were getting of the "ZOMG what's that on the Moon" variety) and they mentioned what was going on.

I managed to take a picture of it when I got home. Curse my lack of a decent zoom.

Only Photoshopping was to add the title and to desaturate the image as a streetlight tainted the image orange. (Yes, we have streetlights on my estate. Some of them actually work!)

Been waiting for it all week, didn't disappoint.  Particularly cool with Jupiter just above Venus.  Tried desperately to find primitive tribe to impress with my magical predictive powers (reading Sky at Night magazine in Borders), but had to settle for the wife.  She failed to acknowledge me as a god (as usual).
