Anyone else staying up for this? Just gone 2 and they've only just doled out the supporting gongs to Clooney/Weitz.

Good opening sequence with all the previous hosts turning down the job with Billy Crystal and Chris Rock emerging from the 'Brokeback' tent.

Highlight so far is Chicken Little presenting an award and them forgetting to dub in the winner's name.

Pure gold.

Well at least I've got natchos.

I, Cosh

It's all happening in the database chat room.

It's all very well and good for you unemployed chapees, but I've got a tutorial at 3 pm, so must think about bed.

CRASH???!!!! WTF???!!!!

Crash was a shitty movie. I'm more than a little shocked by that. TBH I'm wondering if there was an element of pulling back politically there.

Dudley

Crash was
- more meaty than Brokeback Mountain (which is pretty thin stuff)
- less dull than Good Night and Good Luck
- better than Munich
- not all about a single great performance, like Capote.

It wasn't half as good as History of Violence, though.

I've got a suspicion that beening set in LA didn't hurt either.

Roger Godpleton

Brokeback Mountain not winning?! That's the worst news since this...

He's only trying to be what following how his dreams make you wanna be, man!

That's ridiculous. It seems that America can't make social progress without jumping back a step.

Just watched "Crash" on DVD. We had the first version though, released under it's original name of "Magnolia 2".

Heh.

"Magnolia 2: City Of Racism"

(You could argue that Magnolia is a Short Cuts rip-off though)
