Quote from: Barrington Boots on Today at 10:00:46 AMI'd hoped to have this framed and done ahead of Lawless but my framing dude has had to have his toe amputated(!!!) - but here's a magnificent Simon Fraser Hershey page with a glorious cityscape, fed up chief judges and my name on a badge to boot. The colour looks great IRL and this will look badass on my wall, eventually.

Great page - are you bringing your wallet to lawless 😂😂

I have to apologise for not listening to this podcast up til now after all the huge plaudits it received from everyone who's listening.

My reason is I'm late (very)to the podcast scene 🙁

Anyway after a 2 weeks binge I'm up to podcast 32 and throughly enjoying it and the inside angle from Simon is great as well as a female's view of such a cad of a character.
As a whisky drinker myself the whisky pairings have been interesting though I haven't been partaking while listening to the podcast.

As everyone who's commented in the years prior to me listening these are great. 👍🏻

I should be all caught up for the live podcast at Lawless where I can watch the magic happen before my eyes 😁.

Definitely! You can tell us all about hobnobbing with the big names

Yeah we can live vicariously through you!
I'm sure there's a NDA that comes with the tickets 😂😂😂😂

If I'm not too star struck and remember the conversations I'll spill the beans 😉

I like these ones as well - that Dredd looks sinister
I posted those mini's a while back on the Of topic a couple or 3 pages in on the "where the dust goes to settle"

Quote from: Trooper McFad on 19 December, 2022, 07:27:10 AMHere's a few of my Stront minis. These are all Metal and I prefer these to the Dredd from Warlord games but i understand that costs may have driven the change.

I've not yet started the Dredd minis (apart from the Xmas decy's) but I'm queued up with my larger projects I don't know when I'll get them started.

I've only posted a few of my favourite ones and i believe the monochrome effect brings out the detail in the figures pretty well.

That's just a sample

That's a great pic Nightbook. I did my Stront mini's in a similar style -monochrome with that splash of colour for the badge.

It's great to see so many boarders able to attend this year's Lawless. I hope to put a lot of faces to the names on here - Barrington Boots & Jim I have faces so can pick them out. Maybe a name badge with our board names on would help 😂😂😂

On the Saturday look out for the mad Scotsman or the guy with blue GI T on and the Sunday I'll risk wearing a RoK of the reds away top (shouldn't really wear a football top at my age 😁)
Is there anyone else going to the bash on the Saturday evening?

Quote from: Barrington Boots on 13 May, 2024, 03:07:26 PMJust shy of £1400 for the page I was bidding on, I think.
Wow! Us mere mortals can't afford that much "spare" cash

Quote from: Barrington Boots on 13 May, 2024, 03:03:04 PMI was comprehensively outbid on this!
The dream lives on..
What did it eventually go for?

Hoagy both are great and I think the poses are what makes them stand out. Favourite is the Dredd cross armed one and I know it could be any judge but in my head this is Dredd doing a gansta rap music vid.
Just my silly/crazy mind at work

On the Dredd story and I'm just spit balling here:

Dredd in a cold inhospitable environment (see MC1)
The thing that owns this environment is the biggest baddest beast/bear (see Dredd)
Once the Bear has your scent there's no getting away (see Dredd)
Someone he has respect for dies- or is she!(see Hershey or anyone from Dredds past)
Finally Dredd face's down the bear/Dredd with the final speech bubbles "Death's coming Arcto's/Dredd" and "it won't be long now"!!!!
Now it is just spit balling but if this is a hint at a larger arc in the future to say end tooth's 50th and the final demise of Dredd and usher in a new era that would be something.

Or do I have too much time on my hands and talking utter pish 😂😂😂

Quote from: Barrington Boots on 07 May, 2024, 01:22:54 PMNot yet! It's a full bleed page with laminate speech bubbles, so I'm not really sure what I want to do with it with it. I should just get it up and be happy but the indecision is strong here! I think it looks nicer without the laminate...

I haven't got that Henry Flint page framed yet either.
Do it in a batch with the new Carlos one you are about to win 😉
The framer might give you discount 😄

Quote from: Barrington Boots on 07 May, 2024, 12:00:54 PMI'm tempted to take a punt at one of these but I'm still in dither mode - if I'm buying a Carlos Stront page and spending that much, I want one that's perfect. Box Paton is no Wulf sadly...

Don't dither if it means beans on toast for the next year then it's beans on toast 😁👍🏻

Waiting on a Wulf page May mean it's just toast 😂

Did you get that great Durham page framed yet?

Quote from: Vector14 on 07 May, 2024, 12:32:00 AMI can see that Proteus Vex is good, and it's a top thrill for most people here but I'm not really getting into it. I haven't read any of the previous series so I don't know whats going on.

Does the Another Dawn graphic novel cover everything up until now? I get the feeling it doesn't.

I was the same when jumped in at "the shadow chancellor" then when it was collected with "another dawn" I got the digital version and everything made much more sense and now it's a story I look forward to when it's on a run.
I'm currently at the same "lost" feeling with Brink!! I will get round to reading it as a continuous run and see if it all clicks
