Isn't the image of Black Orchid on the cover of issue 1 not Dave McKean, not John Bolton? McKean defo did interiors on that series - the Gaiman one before the ongoing that is.

From 1965...here's evidence of the actual prime minister of the day sitting down for dinner with a bunch of cartoonists! Yes it's the 'Cartoonists' club dinner & ball' (organised by the Cartoonists' club of Great Britain)

That's amazing! I adore the fact the list of folks attending is astonishing, the menu includes food I neither know, understand or see in my life, stars like Bob Monkhouse are reduced to a footnote under 'Cabaret' and yet they still have a Tombola like its a village fete!

Oh and I've never heard of Harry Bishop - his work from that image on the photo looks like its amazing!

yes, it's a great souvenir isn't it? What an evening! Harry Bishop is a great artist - 'Gunsmoke' probably his most well-known strip - and yet very little (none?) of his work has been reprinted recently so he's in danger of being forgotten
