Watched The Prisoner (Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung) yesterday. It's a good film really, but the kung fu is downplayed for the prison aspect of the film. Hung has a quick scene in the kitchen showing off some skills, but that's it for him.

I don't want to say this film is disappointing, but it's a bit like watching a porn film only to find there is an actual plot and the sex is only there when appropriate.

Sad about Borgnine. I enjoyed many of his roles. Most people forget he won a best actor award for Marty and think only of his lighter roles.

Looks like they missed a bit. Is this an attempt at prison protection perhaps?

His mum must be so proud.

[The Legend of Drunken Master]

I watched The Legend of Drunken Master over the weekend and got to thinking about how much time I've wasted watching Kung Fu films. I have a real weakness for these films, especially the ones with the bad dubbing and over the top stories and action.

To those of you that have a similar proclivity for these types of films (martial arts) what are some of your favourites, both good and bad?

I read Engineman a while back and really enjoyed it right up until the end. It ended too abruptly and felt the story should have explained a few things better at the very end. Maybe I was just enjoying it too much and wanted more.

Maybe it's supposed give her lovers something to strive for.

They still haven't solved the problem of missing bits of the film while taking a slash. I suggest flat-screens in the jax or a piss-trough below the main theatre screen.

In a moment of weakness went to see Avengers. Load of open gobbed uncouth popcorn munchers. One of the worst culprits finished a box, I finally thought I could now concentrate on the film then she left to go and buy another box. 

This irks me too. I'm always in the same row and they climb past me in a cloud of salt. I hope they enjoy their salt induced hypertension.
