Title: Crowdfunders you might like
Post by: tonyf33 on 04 March, 2024, 08:50:07 AM
There are several crowdfunders from the UK Squaxx Dek Thargo may love so I thought I'd start a new thread.
Crowdfunders are like pre ordering your 2000AD and Treasury Books.

The 68 page Tara Togs The Silence of Unicorns by Stref is inspired by Herge's TinTin and was funded in six hours. If you like strong Halo Jones heroines then you will enjoy this. The book was called a 'intelligent and superb work' by David (V For Vendetta) Lloyd.  Check it out here (http://kck.st/49MwIw4)

If you missed the Crowdfunder for ComicScene Spring Issue then you are also missing a new KekW / Charlie Gillespie strip called Ruby Tuesday.  Check it out at the ComicScene Store (https://theshift.store/collections/history-of-comics)

Church of Hell was written by Alan Grant with art from the likes of Glenn Fabry, Simon Bisley and Clint Langley.  Check it out here (http://kck.st/3uFeeih)

The guys is a Zenith style hoot (it has superheroes!) which you can support here (http://kck.st/42xaImw) and Matt Garvey's Gangster versus Nazi's looks like a lot of fun here (http://kck.st/4bh5D5S)  Only a few hours to support this one.

So if you love 2000AD and UK comics these are all worth your galactic groats.

What an excellent, and expensive, idea for a thread.

The Kickstarter may have ended but I still have a handful of copies of the brilliant Bludd & Xandi collection left for sale.
Written by the Legendary Shark.
Art, lettering and colour splashes  by 2000AD artdroids Tom Newell, Jim Campbell and Karen Holloway, repectively.

It's an absolute belter of a comic and deserves to be read!
Grab your copy from the PARAGONcomic blogspot. (https://paragoncomic.blogspot.com/2024/01/bludd-xandi-preview-pages.html)

You won't be disappointed!

Some of these Crowdfunders are just so clickable.Especially when you know the money isn't going to come out until it's fully funded

Latest issue - 6 - of the brilliant Switchblade Stories is on Kickstarter at the moment. Already well and truly funded and still plenty of time to go AND you can catch up with the first 5 issues to boot.

Big fan of Romero (whose name is spelt wrong on this KS page) and his work on Axa and Modesty Blaise but this doesn't seem a good campaign: aside from the expected high shipping and misspelling of the artists name the gimmick covers are awful, and any KS that runs 'nude variant' covers is something that should be avoided imo regardless.

You can generally pick up the Axa reprints that were done for the US market at reasonable prices second hand, and whilst the reproduction isn't the best in places they're still good.

Correcting myself here, as Enrique Romero does indeed sometimes appear credited as Enric Romero so consider these words eaten.
