Biohazard - Punishment https://youtu.be/s-bYPqXg1NQ

They're nae the subtlest of bands, but they have their moments, and Punishment may just be their greatest. First Biohazard track I ever heard, and it certainly turned me on to 'em.

More people should love the Zig.

Anyway, I've been living deep in the Laibach Republic since the gig last week.

New albums by Therapy?, Nightwish and The Prodigy are my current playlist......the first two are nice little slices of awesome, the Prods new effort isn't too bad either.

Been listening to a couple of quite different FACT mixes a lot recently.

This one, allegedly cobbled together out of odd ends of crap littering his laptops and tape decks, from Jefre Cantu-Ledesma is all gentle, woozy ambience. Really quite beautiful.

Quite a contrast to Vessel's  noisy effort. Gregorian chants, lo-fi punk, jarring shifts in volume, ambient noise and "Some seagulls outside the window" all add up to an endlessly interesting listen (and some hilarious comments from the bpm counting bellends on soundcloud.) Manages to capture a good dose of live experience too.

Heard that playing in a record store recently and liked it enough to ask what it was! Didn't buy it there and then but definitely going to at some point, sounded great.

Famous Mortimer

I read a Grantland article about "chillwave", and despite it being a ridiculous name for a made-up genre, it has given me Washed Out, who I think are fantastic. Really enjoying their album "Within And Without", not my normal cup of tea but there's something really interesting at work here.

Lately I've been listening to Ben Howard, For anyone not familiar with Mr Howard he's an English singer/songwriter who plays a kinda guitar drifting style, he also has a great voice, His song Further away is mind blowing I'll include a link

I've been listening to the entries for the Eurovision song contest. I do occasional gig/album reviews for a rock/metal website, but for some reason the publicists for the Eurovision recently sent us the album with all the entrants on it and asked us to review it. So we decided to take the piss with it a bit.

It's seriously sucking my will to live though.
Peas sell. But who's Brian?

The Justice department has a good re-education programme-it's called five to ten in the cubes.

The new Paradise Lost album, The Plague Within.

Been listening to the stream of the new Faith No More album a lot and it's really got its hooks in. First listen was a bit curious, never really know what to expect from them with a new album and after so long I think I had an idea in my head of what it would be like and it's sort of that but also not really at all like that.

Getting better with every listen as the more playful album tracks are starting to reveal their brilliance. Only time will tell if it holds up to their previous albums (I'd put Angel Dust in my top 5 albums of all time easily so it's got a lot to live up to) but the hunger I have to keep listening to it is a good sign.

B.B King You upsets me baby.

when I read this the other day I remember thinking that BB must be getting pretty old now, and won't be with us much longer - they just announced today that he's died aged 89.

I blame Zarjazzer.
