So I've been making my own Gronk, as I just can't afford the 3A one.
I haven't done any clay modelling or painting in 20 years, so this is going to be tricky I think!!
Here's the basic framework, super Sculpey over wire:

A bit of tidying up, get some basic features in:

Here he is with some smoothing out, slight detail, and a fur effect, ready to be baked:

Nuts - oven was too hot!
Ah well, I'll have to paint over the singes.

The first coat of paint. I was a bit impatient, plus I'm using the kids coarse brushes, so it looks a bit scrappy:

A little more detail, but now I have to wait for the paint to dry. Only really his eyes and some slight touching up left to do!

Finished!
Obviously nowhere near the standard of 3A. However, this is the first bit of clay modelling I have attempted in over 20 years, so I'm quite pleased with it. :D

Well, I had to something while the Gronk cooked, the paint dried, each time I mixed colours, rolled up a new pice of Sculpey, posted update photos etc etc. ;)
I've written up the process in a little more detail for ECBT 2000AD, if anyone is interested:
