The last two links can be found from the first link, but I thought I'd add them anyway.

Here's another interesting link.

Here's a couple of places for information for those who care.

Those unfamiliar with Scottish history should probably start with 'The Claim of Scotland' by H J Paton which can be found in the Repository section in the Wings Over Scotland link. It'll give you a good background to the 'debate'.

For those who don't know, I'll be voting YES.

Just thought I'd mention I got all the art from Insurrection III back today and will be taking it with me to Kendal. (Except the last episode)
I don't have a table, but possibly will be at the signing at the 2000ad thing on Saturday night if anyone is looking for pages. (also got some Dredd and Strange&Darke) Otherwise just look for a tall Pratchett-esque chap and that'll be me. :)

Anyhoo, see y'all in the pub... er, I mean at the comic festival. :D

Re Meg 236.
"For reasons Lord Barnes declines to explain, there is no Devlin Waugh this issue. Sir Alan acknowledges his absence, but promises his return next issue."

Well, enough time has passed now that I can explain why there was no Devlin Waugh in this Meg.

While I was mid way through drawing the penultimate episode of this story my father died unexpectedly. Those of you who have lost a parent can understand the turmoil that brings to ones head, never mind ones life, when this happens. I could not have asked for a better editor to be working for. Alan Barnes effectively said never mind the deadlines, just take whatever time you need to deal with this, I'll find something to put in the Meg instead, you look after yourself and your family, we'll get back to Devlin Waugh when you're ready.
Alan Barnes is a wonderful caring human being who I hold the highest respect and thanks for. I was blessed indeed to have him as my editor... and as a friend in a time of deep pain in my life.

I know I didn't have to say anything about this mystery, but to me the Megazine and 2000ad is more than just a job, it's more like family. I grew up reading 2000ad and grew up further working for it. As much as I am part of it, it is part of me.

I hope no one minds me taking this opportunity to reveal a bit of myself and this mystery, but it's good to talk about and to family. Yes, in a weird sort of sense even all you readers are family too. Okay some really bizarre, extraordinary and at times annoying extended family, but family none the less. :)

We may not be family of flesh and blood, but we are perhaps a family of paper and dreams.

Anyhoo, enough of that. Back to the reviews of Megazines past. You're doing a grand job Simeon.

Cheers

Megazine / Re: Meg 336

Hi folks!
Looks like a fair few comments about the shift in style on Insurrection III. Okay, here we go.

I won't go in to details, but the main reason for the change in art style was due to personal life stuff.
I started drawing Insurrection III last year, however it didn't go well. I tried to keep going with the greyscale style from the previous series, however it was impossible. I found myself incapable of rendering with that technique. The decision was taken by me to change style in episode two. It was either that, or the third series would not be coming out in the comic. I think folks would have liked that even less.

It was not an easy decision by any means. I knew it would, and has, disappointed the readers of the Meg. For this I apologise.
However ... I hope people can look beyond the shift, as many have already done judging by the comments, and enjoy the series. I think in some ways it'll be the best of the three. ... story wise anyways. :)

On a final note I have taken the decision to redraw episode one at my own expense for the collected edition, whenever that appears. I may have not had the time to redo it for the monthly Meg, but at least it'll be sorted out and something new to look forward to in the collection.

Anyhoo, hope you all enjoy series three and I'll see all when I see you.

Cheers

Just had a thought, I don't have access to a table this year. I will be bringing some pages with me, so if anyone is looking for any, or getting stuff signed or whatever, just look out for the hat. I'll be wandering about with the ol' folio on the Saturday.
Stop me and buy some, as it were.  :D

See y'all there.
We'll happily accommodate you at the Zarjaz table, Colin!

That's very kind of you indeed, Rich. I accept your generous offer. :)

QuoteI'm not an SNP supporter, but you've got to admit that Wee Eck dances rings around every other politician (and political correspondent) in the country.

I'm not an SNP supporter either, just an SNP voter. I don't intend to vote for them on independence.

Anyhoo, NATO and the SNP? See link.

Re currency and the Bank of England? Don't forget, this is just the starting point for a newly independent Scotland. Once we're independent, I'd like to see our own central bank be set up with our own currency. I'm hoping it'll be the Scot's Merk.  :D

Here's another article which has some stuff to think about in it regarding Scotland.

Must say, I had a grand time. It was really really great to see everyone, especially those I hadn't seen for a long while or two. A real pleasure indeed!
Don't really have clear memories of chunks of the day, well by the the time we got past teatime anyways. I'd forgotten about that sketch.  :D
