Is it wrong to get indecently excited by a packaging shot. Looks like the evil British are the bad guys this time.

Is this on hiatus or is the aggregator droid out of oil. I know it's only been a week but on the other hand, it's been a whole blooming week and no updates.

Books & Comics / Marvel at "the Works" Cheap thrills
18 January, 2012, 01:03:29 PM
My local 'The Works' (Cardiff) has stacks of Marvel graphic novels all on sale around £3. There are hard and softbacks in there. No idea whats worth getting but there's probably over 20 titles there. Your usual Spidey, Hulk and XMen stuff as well as adaptations of Treasure Island, Man In The Iron Mask etc and the like.

Please help me get rid of the boxes of spares I have. They are taking up space I want to stand in.
All progs 20p everything else 25p per item. The vast majority are in good nick. Free gifts are also present on most. Some are still sealed in their polybags, never read. If you want details on particular items, ask. I have multiples of some so you'll get the best quality one. Open to offers on the lot.

My mate sent me a link to this saying 'I can't believe they re-made Logans Run'

Reading the IMDB synopses it does sound very Logans Run, the trailer however gives it a very different feel. Could be quite fun

Creative Common / Looking for an artist / artists
14 April, 2011, 10:18:03 AM
Bit of a cheeky request. Are any of you lovely artistic types out there interested in helping out my small LRP system. We are looking at revamping our rules ready for this seasons games kicking off in July, and thought it would be neat to have some character archetype illustrations. The system is a Napoleonic alternate history system with a steam-punk twist (steam-punk wasn't quite as prevalent in LRP when we started, it seems every other system is now :S)

If anyone is interested and fancies lending a hand, even if it's a single sketch please let me know. We can't pay other in gratitude and good will.

The current rules are here http://www.liveroleplay.com/BraveNewWorld/rules.htm (yes they need proof reading, the person who wrote them is dyslexic :) )

some photos from previous games are here to give an idea of ascetic

Film & TV / New series of Red Dwarf Confirmed

Is this good news or not ? I'll watch it no matter but 'Back To Earth' was seriously lacking imo and the constant self reference didn't help it.

General / Too Busy Thinking About .. GN Editing
23 March, 2011, 09:49:14 AM
I've just been reading through Colin Smith's latest blog posts about the editing that goes on in the Rebellion GN's. I'm interested to see what others think. (and maybe if Si Fraser or Robo-Keef are reading, answer some of Colins questions)

I'll admit I didn't really take note of the changes when I bashed through the graphs, but Colin does make a compelling point. Should Rebellion leave the chapter markers in place (I was reading the Taxidermist book last night and they are present in that) or try and create a seamless story. Should they be left in for British copies and removed for the American market where longer strips are the norm? What do people think?

Film & TV / Paul
16 February, 2011, 09:58:04 AM
Went to see this last night and it was actually better than expected. I hadn't appreciated it was written by Pegg and Frost so had low hopes. It didn't have the same energy that it would have had with Wright directing, but I found a lot of the jokes funny and there were a number of nice in jokes and nods without them overpowering the film or getting in the way. Good fun
