I've been pointing out for yerars that BBC3, being the go to channel for poor life choices, would be the perfect home for a 1 hour nightly anime block. Sadly it was never to be, but as others pointed out, streaming has moved in to fill the void and does so aplenty.

As for the fall titles, honestly only the new Gundam series is the only original title to have me excited. Looks to be the right title to inject a much needed dose of thrill power into the nearly dead franchise (Mobile Suit Gundam Origin not withstanding, thats a phenomenal little comic).

I really want to like Beautiful Bones but looks like it panders a few too many harem troupes for me to give it much of a chance. Which is a shame, as played straight the lead duo could have made for awesome entertainment. Young Black Jack should also excite me more than it does, as it is i'm just casually intrigued by it.

But guys. Seriously. One-Punch Man. Animated by Madhouse. An amazing voice cast. And an opening theme by MOTHA' FUCKIN' JAM PROJECT! Yeah, the hype is real.

Most anime fans get their fix online anyway.  Streaming would be the official means, but last I checked, filesharing sites were plentiful to the point that a lot of them come with the approval of the content originators in Japan, as they usually create an audience for stuff that would never be licenced in the West and drive up demand for the lucrative merchandise that creates the only profit said shows generate.

With respect, I'm pretty sure Japanese creators are NOT fans of file sharing sites and piracy of their product in any shape or form.

I won't say much more on the matter, except to maybe look up Greg Ayres' multi-part panel from SoGenCon from a few years back that deals with the varius aspects of piracy and bootlegging. It's a fascinating watch, and sheds light on a lot of not-so-obvious stuff relating to the issue.

Not trying to moralise - just hoping the info will be useful.

The industry's official line is that piracy is wrong and I do not suggest otherwise, but it is a lie to say that they have not colluded with their pirates and/or monetised the process to their benefit.

The Adventurer

At the very least the fansub scene paved the way for all the official streaming channels we have access to now.

Like I say guys - watch those Greg Ayres videos. You may be surprised at what you hear.

I fear I look at Ayres as not entirely unbiased...

Far more harm was done to the anime industry by distributors/broadcasters spamming cheap - and often incredibly low quality - product in the West and collapsing their own market.  Remember the 1990s anime/manga booms?  There's a reason all that went away years before someone invented Bittorrent, just as there's a reason people stopped watching censored, poorly-dubbed anime on television.

So Concrete Revolutio is pretty cool conceptually, its airing on Hulu on a week delay. I really like how it mashes super-hero genres, with Magical Girls, Shape Shifters, mecha, and... er... Ultramans. Plus I'm sure a lot more as it goes. Its wild and crazy, and could be the sleeper hit of the season IMO.

Week two of Blood Iron Orphans and One-Punch Man are just as strong as week 1. Its nice to have three solid shows to follow, all in one convenient place.

Another thumbs up for Concrete Revolutio, delightfully odd and quirky, a real mash up of genres that really delivers. Nice stuff indeed.

Professor Bear

Outside violent pornography and war crimes, Concrete Revolutio may possibly be the most Japanese thing ever.

Episode 4 of One-Punch Man had me in tears. I completely forgot about Sonic's
crotch shot
which was even more painful animated, and plays like something out of a Monty Python sketch. One of the good ones.

But it did remind me,
those two robots from the "organisation", was that plot thread ever readdressed?
Welp spent the night at a friends as we had a minor fire in the house that rendered it incapable of sleeping in (nothing serious, we are all home now). While their we joked about how great Concrete Revolutio is and discused the worst series of the season. She named Valkyrie Drive which I had never heard of, so we watched a few episodes for shits and giggles. As the alcohol wore off, I realised just how awful a show it was. Truely irridemably bad and had the gaul to rip off superior series in the Shojo genre. Absolutely abysmal and makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.

The OP theme is strangely addictive though...

The Adventurer

Speaking of OPs, coincidentally One-Punch Man, Gundam Orphans, and Concrete Revolutio (my three shows of the season) all have my favorite OP music of the season.  I didn't think I liked OPM's at first, but it grew on me. JAM Project can kill it.

I hear Mr. Osomatsu might be a show worth checking out if you're into comedy shows

Concrete Revolutio is starting to get really interesting, and the genre mix up is quite a refreshing take in the idea after Moore's constant and excessive nods to pop culture in League.

I don't think anime fans want to go pulling on the thread marked "incestuous self-reverence" anytime soon - and definately not in a thread that features the word "Gundam".

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.
