Andy Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish’s The Imaginarium and Studiocanal-backed Urban Myth Films are turning The Wicker Man into a TV series.

It's one of my favourite films ever, but I don't really know how well a series would work.  I'll reserve judgement I suppose.  I had very low expectations for the Watchmen series, but it was excellent.

I could see it being rejigged as a sort of Dystopian game show, a la Squid Game, with each week's losing contestant being sent to the Wicker Man, for their own personal toasting.  :D

Depends whether it's a series or a serial. The story doesn't really make it clear, but I'm assuming that they will go for the "8-hour movie" model, basically an expanded remake cut into hour-long chunks. Not sure what they'll do if it gets recommissioned for a second season, but I imagine they will have given some thought to that eventuality.
