It says not Dredd 2...

I can read  ;)

But it also says we will be excited by the next announcement

I was speculating on whether Karl is on board for the tv series

If not..wonder what it can be?!

OK, could be reading this the wrong way - they seem to be saying it's not a sequel to the person who asked if it's a reboot or sequel.

So the next announcement could be anything, writers, maybe directors interested.

You could be right..we will soon find out!  :D

Edgar Wright has been angling to do Strontium Dog since before Shaun of the Dead, had a meeting with John and Carlos last year and posted a pic of the Dredd vs Death statue from the Rebellion office, as mentioned by Goaty.

So it could be that.

Or it could be connected to Rogue Trooper.

Jason has hinted that other IPs other than Dredd may be in the offing.

Aw man if they did Strontium Dog my head would explode..literally

Urban confirmed maybe?!

This far out, without a shooting schedule or even scripts, I'd be amazed if Urban could commit even if he wanted to. I'd be delighted if he did, though...!

That was my initial thought too Jim..we can but hope!

Rebellion just posted this on Twitter

Urban confirmed maybe?!

They've already hinted in that interview regarding the more comedic side of Dredd's universe emerging in the series..which a few posters have alluded to wanting

People didn't see the film because they didn't know it was on. It's a marketing issue. People who have seen it like it.
I didn't see it and I knew it was on. Being a member of this board, I am obviously a fan of Dredd but I have yet to see the 2012 film because I just don't like the 'look' of it. I understand it to be very good from everyone's opinion but it just doesn't interest me. There must be many other people less aware of Dredd than myself who would similaraly glance at it and think it is not for them.

Im sorry but that's just plain weird

You're a Dredd/2000ad fan who has never seen the 2012 film because it doesn't interest you?!

Absolutely bizarre

I think they will go with EXACTLY the same Aesthetic as the latest film Dredd..everything from Uniform to Lawmaster..and why not..it worked

Guessing of course, but if this has been given the go ahead on the strength of the loyal following of the 2012 Dredd movie, wouldn't it be a mistake to veer too far away from the look of that film?

The 2012 movie (for me) created a general aesthetic and city  that I actually now prefer to its comic counterpart. I don't think I want the city from 1995 Judge Dredd, I want 2012 Dredd.

The practical body armour was also spot on. And finally, if we are following on from the fan support of Dredd, Karl Urban would surely be the number 1 choice. I can only hope that it happens. I don't think any old actor will do just because it's only a chin and voice, that's seriously underplaying what karl urban brought to the role. He 100% nailed it.

Have to disagree there.  Although I liked Dredd the city just didn't capture the feel of the comic Mega City to me and I thought that the Stallone film actually did the city much better (even though the film wasn't exactly a great Dredd film).

Same with the uniform.   It was ok but could have been much better and I thought it looked a bit cheapo.   Dredds uniform should look as cool and expensive as possible.

I agree the City in Stallones Dredd was impressive..but strongly disagree about the Uniform..Urban's Judge uniform was bang on IMO..practical and combat based..exactly what you would expect a future lawman to wear on the streets

As has been mentioned

I think it's likely that the series won't be based on Dredd but based around Mega City One itself

That way if Urban does want to reprise Joe..he can appear sporadically..flitting in and out of the series

Hopefully this can help with his schedule

I like the idea of the 'Hill Street Blues' cop show as mentioned earlier

Based around a sector house with snapshots of their day..would really get a feel for the Big Meg and make the show more accessible to the casual viewer

There's been an early production leak. I think it looks excellent:

Haha just remembered the reaction on here when the film Lawmaster pics were leaked

The day has finally arrived!

I'm so glad they are going to incorporate a little of the humour of the comic

Really hope Urban reprises the role :D
