Sure there's a thread already but couldnt see one after trawling the first 8 or so pages and am too dumb to find the search option, so.....

VERY late to this but loving it. Am seven episodes in to season one and am totally hooked. Cool story, well shot action, surprisingly violent, looks great, really effective cliff hangers and reveals and loads of cool easter eggs for the nerds. They've just introduced a female character who is cool in her own right but if you know comics and recognise the name it's a great "GAAAHHHH!" moment.

Oh, and if you are that way inclined the lead guy gets his shirt off at about 10 minute intervals which my wife assures me is reason enough to watch it.

Sure most of you have seen already but if anyone is like me and missed it I'd recommend tracking it down. Loads better than it had any right to be. Chuffed there's at least another season out there for me to chain through if the quality keeps up, and I've been told it only gets better

The online buzz is that the steam summer sale is gonna kick off on the 19th of June and run till the 30th

As always I am very excited for this and as with previous sales I expect to buy loads of cheap games which I will then NEVER GET ROUND TO PLAYING. It's a sickness really, my librabry is now up to 245 game FFS

http://steamcommunity.com/id/welshbluemeanie

Got 3 games in my wishlist.... Far Cry : Bloodragon, Broforce and Stanley Parable so hoping to get the three of them. Otherwise, not too sure other than probably getting all the skyrim DLC as I'm really enjoying that at the moment.

Sure there'll be another thread when the sale does go live but for now.... what you hoping for? what do you recommend?

Welcome to the board / A wanderer returns
05 June, 2014, 03:56:42 PM
Not a new forum-ite but a lapsed one giving it another shot after a few months absence as I was obviously missed   -cough-

Hello again...or for the first time

Richard in the real world. Might say that over there <--

Old fart who had 2000ad issue 1 bought for him as a kid and immediately lost the frisbee over next door's back garden.

Dipped in an out after that but have read solidly since prog 1631 from waaaay back in 2009

Fave all time strip, Nemesis. Fave of the new stuff, probably Absalom

Done some bad writing for Zarjaz and Dogbreath

I half assedly run the ECBT2000AD website and occasionally turn up on the podcast (I'm the drunk Welsh one who swears too much, not the angry Irish one).

I have a nice new(ish) job which means zero skive time to come on here really but will try and post a bit

Will be avoiding the moral argument threads like the plague... if I wanted to be preached at I'd get religious or ring my mother more often. This is about comics and stuff innit? Comics are supposed to be fun, right?

Is better than you at Kung Fu Master but doesn't like to get all superior about it. It's not your fault.

Is apparently now speaking about himself in the third person like a right pretentious f*cker so will cut this short

General / Another call our for Prog/Meg reviewers
26 October, 2013, 11:57:19 PM
Done this before so I'll be brief so as not to bore anyone

Got a 2000AD website > http://2000ad.wordpress.com/

Was getting 5 or 6 prog reviews a week to post up which was cool. Lots of different opinions which is always a good thing.

Dropped down to one or two lately so if anyone is up for it I'd love to get some more to post

No real time restriction tho the same week it hits the shops would be cool. No size restriction, few lines per story or an epic. No censorship... I post what I get sent even if, actually ESPECIALLY if, it differs from my own take on stuff

If anyone thinks they might be up for doing the occasional one send them to ecbt2000ad@yahoo.co.uk

Also if any of the above is unclear (it is nearly midnight) then let me know below and I'll try and sort it.

Oh... and if anyone has art or news or anything else they'd like to share feel free to also email those in and I'll tag them up

cheers

Richard

General / Everything Starts with 2000AD
20 September, 2013, 01:38:41 PM
We've done a new podcast. Aim is to work through the progs from the beginning. Will see how far we get. Could be fun though especially if the plan to rope in a few droids along the way pans out

If you dont like the other podcasts you won't like this one. If you do, you probably will. Me and Whittle had fun doing the first one anyway

Games / Counter Strike Global Offensive
03 September, 2013, 12:13:43 AM
Anyone else playing this? I'm horribly addicted at the moment

Used to play quite a bit of Counter Strike way back when. Had it in the Half Life generation box along with HL1 and Opposing Force. This is the tarted up version.

Same basic game with the addition of Deathmatch and Arms Race where you progress up the gun ladder with every kill and the first person to get to the top and make a kill with the knife wins. Frantic but fun

Just thought I'd mention as the last round of games I was in we were all getting the shit kicked out of us by someone with the username Strontium Dog and the SD badge as their avatar. Not any of you lot is it?

General / Any questions for Team Zarjaz?
25 August, 2013, 11:18:59 PM
Yeah... you could just ask them on here but work with me here y'bastards

Looking to sort a podcast with Mr Clements and Mr Evans in the next week or so to talk all things Zarjaz, Dogbreath and Beiber (they also run the UK fanclub, true fact).

If you have any questions you'd like me to ask them feel free to post below and I'll work them in

General / PJ Holden interview podcast
21 August, 2013, 11:55:57 PM
Just posted it up. Not checked it myself, just added music to each end, but as it's not me or Flint I'm pretty sure it won't be TOO offensive as PJ is the nicest man in comics and Luke is the nicest man in podcasting

Link here to download as well as all the others.. posted about 3 this week. Or you can just nab them from itunes

General / Call out for website contributors
18 July, 2013, 11:18:57 PM
Not done this in ages so....

Got the website > http://2000ad.wordpress.com/

Always up for artwork, articles, reviews... anything. Especially if you disagree with whats on there as I try my best to post opposing opinions to balance it out.

Try and post at least two things a day so any 2000AD related content gratefully received.

ecbt2000ad@yahoo.co.uk

Email stuff in, I'll make it all pretty. Happy to add website links or whatever else ya want. Prog and Meg reviews can be as short as the ones people post on this forum anyway

Know there is a freebies and bargains thread but hope the mods wont mind this one for the duration of the Steam Sale

Anyway, been live 2hrs. Bit of a bugger to use at the moment due to traffic

Already caved and bought the Counter Strike Complete pack for £4.24. Used to play the original Counter Strike to death, strangely while never actually getting any better at it, so figured I'd get my moneys worth seeing as its 75% off for the next 6hrs or so.

Left4Dead2 also 75% off... already got that though.

Tempted with Hotline Miami as heard good things and its only £1.74

General / Q&A with Henry Flint
01 July, 2013, 10:40:36 PM
Mr Lockjaw is down to record a podcast with Henry Flint this Wednesday... bit late notice I know

If anyone has anything they want asked, head on over here >
http://2000ad.wordpress.com/2013/07/01/calling-all-henry-flint-fans/

and leave it in the comments section.
Dont worry, you dont have to register or anything. It may say your comment is pending moderation, I'll just push them all through

So firstly go here

http://www.indieroyale.com/

at time of typing £3.93 gets you Sniper Elite v2, Dredd vs Death, Gatling Gears and Bloody Trapland.
I've got them again just to have them in Steam. Giving my old copies away.

Now for the question...
Dredd vs Death. I was told the multiplayer servers are offline but there is still the in-game option to host a game. Wondering if this means someone can start one up and others can join as opposed to dedicated machines running it somewhere. Tried looking online but not able to find a definitive yes or no

Off the back of doing the podcast with Keith Richardson this afternoon I'm sorting one with Pye Parr next.
Pye of course being the 2000AD design guy who puts together the ads and covers and actually does the artwork for a lot of the Megazine "graphic novels" etc etc
He also had his first sequential work in the prog last week and has designed t-shirts/posters and stuff

Will sort a date to do this in the next few weeks so, as always, please leave questions on this thread and I'll get through as many as I can

Classifieds / Preacher hardback books
27 February, 2013, 09:12:03 PM
Got the first two. Mint condition. Both signed by Garth Ennis. Looking to sell as a pair.
Got them at New York Comic Con. As I have all the trades anyway they've never even been read
Gonna stick on ebay next week (this weekends beer money is hopefully to be sponsored by this) but if anyone wants to make a not too silly offer before then, cool.

Heres some info on the first book
