Alan Moore and DC successfully did something similar in Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow and Moore's Twilight of the Supeheroes proposal had a built-in get-out clause structured around the end of the DC universe and John Constantine meeting the love of his life. Not that any kind of time-shennanigans need be involved but it could be written as a stand-alone story with a certain long-term narrative/time-line ambiguity.

A very nice idea.

I wouldn't really categorise a 20 year gap between death and resurrection as production line...

I think that quote was in reference to the frequency of which Marvel & DC kill-off & resurrect their characters Steve, but to take your point- IMHO some of the most eye-rolling resurrections have been those foregoing decades of continuity (Norman Osborne & Bucky spring immediately to mind).

It's something I've always hated.
I didn't deride the last episode of The X-Files due to its poorly written & acted execution, more so the unforgivably lame resurrection of Cancer Man!  :)

Also Batman #17 this week; CAN NOT WAIT. I can't believe DC have put their Arrow ad banner on the front of this cover, of all comics this month they couldn't skip this one?!

One of the most annoying ad campaigns of all time.
Way to go DC corporate....why not p!ss off the only customers who are probably watching the show anyway?  >:(

Not sure if it was a mistake, myself: For me it showed that 2000ad had more balls than any American mainstream comic with their cynical production-line deaths and subsequent resurrections.  That's probably the main reason why I really wasn't happy to see Johnny back again.

As *mentioned* in the Prog 1819 thread, I'm not digging new SD either.
This quote is another reason why.

I have given this some thought before, and I genuinely thought that Wagner would already have written this script to be used 'as and when' as Colin put it.

Its the only way to end this incarnation of Dredd.

Life for me is fantastic because it's only four weeks until we emigrate to Canada. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!

Nice one Trout, best of luck with the move.

Take at least one piccie of the food, just for Buttman...

Was tempted to take a pic of my Madison Park 'Shake Shack' food overdose, but couldn't bring myself to impinge our dear Buttonman's raison d'etre.
That place must use a combination of heroin / refined sugar as it's secret burger ingredient though..I've never tasted anything quite like it in my entire life!

Games / Re: Skyrim DLCs for PS3 this Feb!
18 February, 2013, 04:39:12 PM
Bought it yesterday evening (1/2 price- 7.99 Euro for a 1 week period).
As expected, there was a pretty thorough patch update to be installed beforehand (which seems to have fixed a lot of smaller things that were annoying me, like broken side quests).
The DLC took ages to download, so I didn't get to have a good crack at it, but from what I've seen- it's great.
So far no freezing / lag too.
Can't wait to get home from work...

Pretty good so far, the premise has borrowed heavily from 'Caprica' though.
Makes me want to turn my phone off for a while...
