I don't see any arrogance in the interview... but it's no-holds barred, for sure. I have a better idea of the man than I did before reading it. Kudos to the Meg for running a seemingly unsanitised conversation with one of the prog's all-time greats.

Downing tools in the middle of a strip, if that's what happened, is a great way to poison a professional relationship. Unforgivable? Hopefully not, but we don't what else went on, if anything. Surely the interview itself could be seen as a sign that the ice is melting?

I agree about the ending of Dredd. Leaving Booth alive AND allowing those reporters to film what went down seems like bad judgement, but maybe Dredd and Hershey are playing a longer game here.

Weekly Survival Geeks continues to be a pleasant way to spend 90 seconds or so of my life. Neil Googe's art is just incredible. The panels where Sam gets drenched in gore are amazing.

I'm not bothered about Order or Mecha, but that Future Shock was dark, man.

Currently addicted to Sky Force Reloaded on the Switch. Shmups might be the only genre I ever play on that device, but god it's perfect for them.

Artemis by Andy Weir
It's dreadful, but it makes up for it by being quite short.
Eh, I enjoyed it for what it was. It does only take about 3 minutes to read.

No probs, thanks for the feedback feedback. I must admit that I have *never* noticed the "Also available in paperback" footer! I can also see how having separate digital/paperback results would create a lot of noise on search results.

At least I'm sorted from this point. :)

the 2000AD store only had the digital or Book1 & 2 package

Paperback is right here... https://shop.2000ad.com/catalogue/XB637
Okay, have investigated, and this was a failure on my part to grok the shop interface.

However, in the interests of giving good feedback: searching for 'Brink' in the catalogue shows Book 1 listed as 'Digital Edition', book 2 listed same, and the Book 1 & 2 bundle listed as 'Paperback'. If you click on Book 2, Digital Edition is selected, and Paperback is greyed out, which to me reads as unselectable, even though I now realise it is actually selectable. Might I suggest that you show 'Digital Edition' and 'Paperback' as separate results in the search interface, and put a little bit of black into the additional format selectors. :)

I dropped the groats for Book 2 (unfortunately from Amazon, as the 2000AD store only had the digital or Book1 & 2 package) and just *ate* that thing up.

Fully prepped and ready for Book 3. I can't remember the last time I looked forward to a comic series this much (dare I say Halo book 3?).

The Outsider by Stephen King. Absolutely gripping, slows down a bit in the second half, but thoroughly recommended.

Did I read that article correctly, that they're still shopping the series to Netflix et al? I thought it *was* a Netflix series?

No, it's never been attached to a channel/broadcaster at this point. Some articles have mentioned Netflix, but it's never been suggested in any official comment.
I see, ty.

Excellent prog, and since 2097 only arrived Friday morning, I was able to read them back-to-back!

Laughed out loud at Survival Geeks. I love that strip. Grey Area takes a slightly predictable turn but nothing worth getting worked up about.

Thursday and still no prog in Worcester. :( Unfortunately a new record since I re-subbed a couple of years ago.

Thrill-Suckers on the rampage in North London too!
I spotted one in Worcester that must have squeezed through my letterbox to nick my prog -- that, or it intercepted the postie mid-transit.

General / Re: new 2000ad RPG to funded via Kickstarter
31 August, 2018, 11:04:22 PM
I've been a member of the community of which ENPublishing is an arm for many years, and those guys will put a lot of time and passion into this. I doubt I'll play this one, because I do not need yet another RPG system in my life, but I'm sure it'll be good.

It bums me out that they weren't able to fulfil this without a Kickstarter, but the market for a Dredd RPG must be tiny, let alone the lesser-known IP's. My roleplaying circle is probably two-dozen people and no-one except me reads the comic.

Sad story: in school many years ago, I bribed some of my friends with chocolate to let me run the Games Workshop Dredd RPG for a couple of sessions when all they wanted to do was play D&D. They hated it. <voiceover> It was then I realised... </voiceover>
