I ordered this last week and consumed it in short order. The recent(ish) second series was my favourite thrill for quite some time, and book 1 doesn't disappoint either. Can't wait for the collected book 2 (due on 26 July if Amazon is to be believed).

Great prog, no doubt, but Anderson is just unfathomable at the mo. A careful re-read might do the trick.

Looks nice.  With luck my subscription prog will turn up today.  Bank holiday weekend has really thrown things for a loop.   :(
Ditto. :(

Dammit! I had decided to take a break from the prog and switched my sub over to the Megazine. 2073 was to be my last prog for a while, but it was just so good, I'm now back on a combi sub.

*shakes fist to the heavens* Thaaaarggg!

I gotta agree about Brink. It's an amazing strip.

Loved the Dredd concept, but I agree that the last panel veered off in a weirdly unexpected direction. Some great imagery in that strip.

Brink is my favourite strip in the prog for a long time. I'm going there before Dredd, and that's almost unprecedented. Super clean and stylish art, and great dialog.

Grey Area is a pro piece of work. It has grown on me immensely since I first encountered it. I only wish the character art popped from the page a bit more.

Hunted is...fine. I'm in.

Dafoe...nah. It never really got me.

General / Disposing of recent back-issues, how?
20 April, 2016, 11:43:15 AM
Hey all,

One of the promises I made to myself (and my wife) when I re-subbed was that I wouldn't hoard back-issues like I had in the past. So, I have a thingummy that contains the last couple of years of progs, and the agreement made was that when it was full, it would be emptied. This is cool with me, because anything that stands out I will purchase when it's re-released.

So, I have a couple of year's worth of progs and a year's worth of the Meg. I really don't just want to chuck them in the recycling, and I doubt they have much value. What would everyone prefer I do with them?

Cheers!

No prog in Worcester. I would expect to find it on my doorstep tonight (Monday is usually the latest except in very rare circumstances).

The prog continues to impress.

Quite a shocking turn of events in Dredd, and those lines, just fantastic. Is the Justice Department *ever* going to stabilise into the institution of old?

I hope The Order maintains this frenetic pace. I kind of lost interest in the last series but this one feels fresh and energetic.

Kingdom is my least favourite. Nothing about it has ever struck a chord, despite looking great. This one looks like it might be developing the world a bit, so I'm interested to see where it's going.

ABC Warriors - I could add milk and sugar and just eat the art for breakfast. I enjoyed the pastiche this week, but the story is a bit of a muddle, and my memory of what ABCW used to be is very hazy. Can anyone summarise for me?

Strontium Dog is lightweight, but I'm enjoying it a lot. I'd like to see this kind of accessible strip in every line-up.

Typically merry Dredd Christmas tale. Loved it.

This is an amazing prog all around. That Ro-Busters art. Holy crap.

Loved the "error of judgement" jaw-dropper in Dredd and then that final page reveal. Good stuff. Dredd is so good at the moment, I'm tempted to re-sub to the Meg.

I loved the first few episodes of Bad Company but for me it's really gone off the rails. Interminable build-up punctuated with terrible, leaden exposition. The comedy mayor this week was a mis-step as well. I love the art (and that cover, wow), but the writing has fallen short.

Defoe came to a satisfying conclusion, but I'm ready for something new in that slot.

Ate this one up.

LOVED the one-off Dredd. These are really strong at the moment.

Pat Mills' writing on Defoe is really starting to stand out for me. Nothing like a little 18-cert violence to get the juices flowing.

Brass Sun has become one of my favourite modern 2000AD strips. It was one of the ongoing series when I came back to the mag last year, and I really didn't like it. The art put me right off, and the story wasn't exactly noob-friendly. Since then, I've come to adore and admire Culbard's art, and the current strip's focus on the pain of its protagonists has got me by the throat. Brilliant.

Bad Company seems like it's treading water, but at least it's starting to peek into the shadows a bit. Looking forward to an explosive resolution, but fearing that it may be a bit of a fart.

Great prog, I thought. Call me crazy, but I still think that guy at the end of Dredd
is PJ Maybe....
That was absolutely my conclusion as well.

God I love Ryan Brown's covers.

Excellent prog. I think Dredd could do with this kind of procedural thing a lot more often, it's such a showcase for good writers (or is that only good writers can pen a good procedural?). Either way, I'm frickin lovin' it.

Waiting for the Bad Company reveal with anticipation, and hoping that it cranks up a gear in the process. I think it's only okay.

Prog / Re: Prog 1951 - Fall in with BAD COMPANY

Great prog in general, but I thought the exposition in Bad Company was heavy-handed, and what it revealed just not that interesting. Hopefully the strip will get back on track next week. Despite that, I'm in love with the art, and this prog's cover is just brilliant.
