The child was very excited about this one—Bunny vs Monkey has returned!

Yeah good as Mega-lo-maniacs has been nothing says Jamie Smart like Bunny vs. Monkey.

We're just heading home after a brief holiday and I think the boy child is as excited about this being there when we land than seeing the cat again.

Big Bust of 49 V The Schicklgruber Grab  - Bolt-01 Cup - Qualifying - Long: Game 06

Well since we’ve fitted all the games in this week I might as well get ahead on the Region with the most games to get through. So two games from the final group in the Long Region as we play matches 5 and 6 there.

All you need do is vote for your favourite between:

Big Bust of 49 - more info

Vs

The Schicklgruber Grab - more info

Just reply in this thread naming your favourite of these two stories at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easy) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.

Match ends early on the morning of Monday 2nd August and the winner (I’ll count up who gets the most votes basically) gets 3 points towards qualifying… huh…

… there’s a spreadsheet to make following easier… if you fancy. If not, don’t worry just VOTE!!!!

What on Earth is all this?

Why on Tharg’s Earth head are we doing this?

Any questions, just ask as ever - and have FUN!

One day to go here, get your votes in now and I'll announce the results in the morning.

I agree with a few folks here that state that both these thrills were overlong and neither has ever really done it for me and sit right down in my Strontium Dog rankings. The use of Reagan in The Bitch wears thin after about 2 parts and is a cold rehash the Spitting Image version of a horrible man. That said Ragnarok - as I've always called it - just rumbles and roams into areas that don't interest me for episode after episode. The Bitch however gave us Durham Red and so has a legacy to be proud of and on that basis:

The Bitch

And The Final Solution is fighting back and picking up a decent number of votes, can it create another great shock? Well get your votes in today as we'll know by the morning as I count this one up first thing tomorrow.

My vote. Well ask me a few years ago and this might have been closer, I loved The Final Solution and like Cosh adore the art. That said, two things, on my recent re-read I found Final Solution didn't hold up to my memories of it. And second Portrait of a Mutant is in my top three all time Strontium Dog stories so on that basis:

Portrait of a Mutant

VOTING CLOSED

This one was never going to have the drama of the other vote today, which started this group. However a comfortable victory for

The Rammy

Means its actually snuck ahead of both the two who battled it out in the first vote and tops the table. The question of course is can it hold on...

The Rammy                            3    9
Incident on Mayger Minor    3    1
The Moses Incident               0    -1
No-Go Job                               0    -9

VOTING CLOSED

Well my oh my, that I did not see coming. I was of the view that The Moses Incident was one of the favourites, not just in this region but for the tourney overall. I thought it was seen as nailed on classic and definitive 2000ad.... and to be fair it is. Incident on Mayger Minor was a thrill I have always loved, but thought in the minds of other it was just solid Strontium Dog. Then we all read Barrington Boot's analysis and I though - You know what a few of us will stand alongside that....

The story went head to head with Moses, after a shakey start came back and matched the classic head to head AND THEN took a lead - it held!!! Oh my word this is a shock but by the slimest of margins this one goes to:

Incident on Mayger Minor

Incident on Mayger Minor    3    1
No-Go Job                               0    0
The Rammy                             0    0
The Moses Incident               0    -1

Arguably the greatest living comic creator...kicked out of a comic convention.

You couldn't make it up.

There are many, many different ways of looking at this and this is one of the extremes of that spectrum.

I've not read Holy Terror and have no intention of doing so and therefore need to be a little careful about what I say in direct relation to that. What I state here is therefore a reflection on some of the things I have read rather than person reflection. The other end of the spectrum is.

Once great comic artist / writer who hasn't produced anything good in years has withdrawn (been asked to withdraw?) from comic con on the basis that other folks attending choose not to attend if he was due to vile anti-islamic book he produced, for which he has never properly apologised and which he still allows to be sold.

There will be a LOT of views inbetween.

Yeah saw this on Facebook. Not familiar at all with the character, but as ever the joy of discovery will make this an instata-buy. Just working my way through Indestructable Man now and it's a delight.

Just today to go and this one has been a little quiet - or maybe these votes have just found their level? Either way pop a vote in today and before tomorrow morning and it will count.

So me this one is easy as I go into the camp that has Mark Harrison's art marked (on pun and all that) a time that Strontium Dog tried to shake itself up from a rut of okay, solid stories, but ones that took the strip nowhere. The Rammy is an example of just those stories its... fine... on that basis:

The No-go Job

Only today folks so get ya votes in and I'll tote this one up in the morning. From a quick eye scan its surprisingly close so your votes could make a big different.

As might mine and really I have nothing to say as Barrington Boots has expressed my view perfectly. I love The Moses Incident its classic stuff and almost definitive Strontium Dog. However its as simply as this Incident on Mayer Minor is possibly my favourite ever Johnny story as it perfectly captures Strontium Dog as a Western, lets be honest its Shane. On that basis:

Incident on Mayger Minor

A Sorry Case V Mutie’s Luck  - Bolt-01 Cup - Qualifying - Short: Game 04

They may be short but some of these pack a mighty punch. Games 3 and 4 from the Short Region and game 4 might start to firm up Group 1...might...
