Well into the last two ties and as the cliche goes all to play for Current Team could seal it here with a victory OR Classic Team could take it to the final tie to decide the winner. The slimmest of leads seem to make Current Team favourites, but its about whose left as we've seen both teams comfortably win 2 or more ties on the bounce, edge of the seat stuff.

So into these final two ties what can the teams still have in the locker. They’ve been trading punches over 30 ties so far. Surely they have nothing left to give… Well hell would you look at that. Classic Team only have Steve chuffin’ Dillon! He only made the second round of the original Classic tourney but he did draw Carlos there so, ya know. Current Team aren’t doing too bad either. David Roach might have gone out in Round 1 of the Current Tourney - but some on Dave Roach. Not bad. Suspect this will be a toughy BUT these are vital round so…

Time for you to decide your favourite as the droids square up to the tee…

David Roach - more info

Steve Dillon - more info

Remember for this tourney you have 5 votes to distribute as you please between these two artists, whole numbers only. So you can vote 5 - 0; 4 - 1; or 3 - 2; either way depending on how much more you like one artist's work over the other.

If you can’t be doing with that just name your favourite - remember bold tags, or other ways of highlighting always appreciated - and I’ll give them 3 votes and nowt to the other droid.

Three day votes, so this one ends morning of Thursday 17th June

Remember we only consider work for Tharg in these Tourneys

What the heck is all this about - well we have a thread for that

How does this new voting work? Look here and why again?

I don’t understand how this works, what are the rules of the Ryder Cup - yep got ya covered there too

Anything else just ask and I’ll make something up. Most importantly have fun!

Well this one was steady moving in one direction but late votes for the great Edmund Bagwell closed the gap considerably, however not enough and the final vote went to the equally great INJ Culbard. Such incredible talent in this tie.

Over all, well three wins on the bounce have tipped the very delicate balance back in favour of Current Team with only 2 votes to go. It really couldn't be closer

Colin, the revelations about Cas Anvar (Alex) are beyond depressing.  My eldest daughter wants to a career in theatre production.  Knowing how common some of the behaviours alleged are does not fill me with confidence for her safety.

Yeah and then you hear how sexual harrassment is so normalised in schools these days as well.

In the context of of this show its particularly depressing... well no its infuriating wherever and when makes no difference. It has a different level as one thing this show does very well is be effortless diverse. Showing that there should be no rythm or reason to expect anything else.

Good luck to your daughter I hope she enters a time where the calling out of this crap puts and end to it...

Yep, just watched Sgt Bilko

As a wise man once said, this is a cruelly maligned, criminally under-rated, comedy master-piece.

It's a likeable, family friendly comedy, with great performances and a lot of fun gags. With very early appearances by Chris Rock and Bryan Cranston. I've seen it at least a dozen times and have never understood why it gets such bad press.

What I want to know is does Phil Silver's Sgt Bilko still stand up. Not seen that in years but used to love it back in the day.

There's a Trouble with Trebbles gag in there somewhere but I'm too lazy to find it!

Super quiet this one, but then the boards been quiet this month. Even so the show must go on and I'll be closing this one down  in the morning and count up and announce the result. This one is vital too as it will determine which team will go into the final week and last two ties with a lead!

Shame then that its such a tight one. I'm utterly stumped but can't do the 2 : 2 score used a couple of times. I've said down thread how much I admire both of these. In the end end though it comes down to the slimest margins and the simple fact that I enjoy the 'simpler' style more generally and what both artist do INJ seems to do with fewer lines. On that, tiniest of margins I go:

INJ Culbard 3 : Edmund Bagwell 2

Well controversial rulings aside this one has been quite straightforward. Sean Phillips was just getting going when he was a presense in the Prog. Even so he prooduced some stunning work. Simon Davis however has grown and blossomed in front of us, though to be fair he started pretty damned good and he stormed this one.

Overall it ties things up and in doing so confirms that we will be going into the final week with this as an open competition. Bloomin' heck this is getting exciting and is MUCH closer than I ever imagined it would be!

And I've just discovered why Alex is written out so quickly. Christ that's depressing!

Is it me or does The Expanse series 5 have some of the worst use of extras ever? The workers who show up looking for help at the snowy country estate and the politicians / army types in the incident room when Marko attacks The Ring defenses - the unified cheer they gave when the Mars ships show up made me snigger - the unified shoulder slump when they realise they are not fighting with them made me sigh.

Overall it was better than season 4 but still way, way down on 3. Marko is such a mustache twirling villain its hard to sell him. I thought what they did with Alex was brave and interesting, by the very fact it lacked expected drama and scale. That lack of drama and scale also robbed it of much of its impact as well. It felt really rushed in places, as though there wasn't time to set up conflicit or incident so they just cut to the chase. The 'security' turning up at aforementioned snowy country estate for the gun fight of it all. The escape from the prison was so contrived and the time it look Chrisjen to get to the head of the UN in the time it look everyone else not to get to Noami was Empire Strike Backian in its timelines.

Still much more compelling that season 4 and seems to be setting up some interesting stuff for the 6th Season - which I seem to have in my head is the last?

Well stop chating here, get it read and get a review thread started HUH!

Taylor Towers is still Progless... but I got tourney's to prepare to distract me...

The Rule Committee have asked that I box this one off quickly so they can put it behin... I mean this one closes in the morning so get your votes in.

As for me I adore Sean Phillips work on SWIMMING FOR BLOOD... not Sleeper or Kill or be Killed which I'm not considering there and I can't ignore that. However Simon Davis... well. Funnily enough I love Sinister Dexter but its his work on other strips, even one's I'm not keen on like Slaine that really shine for me and Thistlebone feels like a strip built on his talents. So:

Simon Davis 4 : Sean Phillips 1
