Whoops and the stupid thing is I'll have read that to and somehow inexplicibly seem to have chosen to forget it!

More importantly it was a bit of fan-wanky speculation on my part and not really worth thinking about at any depth!

Tell you want if that is the up coming line-up for me that's an absolute blinder.

Are we sure the Dredd epic is starting then though, will that not be kept back for 1750 when we can expect another big launch?

Okay I'll take the possibilities and test there elasticity by stretching a theory to breaking point.

Melody
/River
is born not just of Amy and Rory but also the Tardis and 'her' link to the Matrix.

The Tardis is the Doctor's 'Wife' as we've learnt.

So if Melody has a child (and we don't know this yet of course) might she be called Susan?

Yep well I did say stretching things to breaking point!

Jim if its any consolation rather than simply have a pint in your honour some c**ts were called out in your absence. We felt it was fitting.

Yeah it'd be great to have you join us next time.

if you want the original stories then there are good Showcase Presents volumes).

Yeah if you enjoy the new stuff might be worth checking out Showcase Green Lantern Volume 5 for one of Green Lantern's historical highs from the 70s. Not related to the movie (I assume) but contains black and white reprints of one of the all time classic runs in comics. Denny O'Neill and Neil Adams' Green Lantern Green Arrow. Seminal stuff.

link to Amazon.com as well as it has two good reviews to place this stuff into context.

Well lacking a chin my Dredd face may lack a little, but the fun certainly wasn't lacking yesterday. Conversations I had ranged from the nature of the nature of Christianity and atheism to Bolland's Eagle shoulder pad, now that's quality!

It was great to meet everyone and special thanks to Spirite68 for getting the ball rolling and organizing this... now get those Progs out and get Dante read before next time huh!

Cheers everyone for a great day, can't believe the 6 hours flew past so quickly.

Its hard not to get distracted with the art in a Prog that looks this good. Fantastic to see Lee Carter's long anticipated Dredd and he produced a strip as great as I was hoping, Steve Yeowell is as fantastic as ever and Carlos goes that extra step with Anderson vault shot that really is a distraction! Trevillion's work is nice as ever but its the return of Jesus Redondo that's the real headline stealer and its great to have him back in the Prog with a fantastic style that I for one am loving.

All that said the art shouldn't distract from the stories as its all pretty entertaining. A great opening Dredd setting things up nicely, a solid terror tales and episode of Absalom. The highlights for me though are Anderson which continues the high quality of last week and Red Seas. Anderson really has found its feet with Cass under cover (or not in some panels!) but its Red Seas that in the absence of Dante wins the day for me I've really enjoyed this story and the swashbuckling this week really hits new heights.

Good Prog.

Well done all it was a truly exception competition this time around. Well done to Emperor and Bhuna for stepping in and once again thoughts with Kerrin.

Yeah thought that was immense fun.

My wife felt it lacked focus which I can kinda see. It felt like we were getting one episode in a four parter but I personally really enjoyed the way it crammed the storytelling in so compactly.

Well aside from the forecast letting us down it was an utterly enjoyable afternoon. More to follow after I've made tea and put the little un to bed. Mind I suspect its still going on a plenty at The Howard but I had to bail.

Looking forward to when we do it next already.

Sat outside (hoping the weather lives up to the forecast!) Latest prog on table instead of carnation in lapel. Wife said I look nerdy enough to standout anyway!

Man the Pete Doherty Devlin Waugh strip is something I'd love to see. I mean really that'd be great hope John Smith finds time to get the scripts done.

Some more news the new Green Lantern titles have been announced... although in this case there is very little new news as we knew most of this or its a return to old writers.

In theory this adds Red Lanterns to my list but while I love me some Pete Milligan I have no investment in the character at all I'm not a fan of Ed Benes... this one hangs on there in we'll see territory.

Yeah that's a much better title and a much better trailer. Makes the whole thing seem very enjoyable and I'm looking forward to it now.
