Classifieds / Re: Judge Dredd Bolland Poster for sale

I've also got an extremely rare style guide from the 90s. It's chock full of stuff, but the main draw will be the seldom seen art by the maestro Cliff Robinson.

The listing's here. Again, please check out the listing for details and again, I'm asking for £200...
I'm very much open to offers from anyone here, and if I've met you in meat space, I'm likely to do a real deal for you.

Classifieds / Judge Dredd Bolland Poster for sale
06 December, 2017, 04:06:26 PM
Hi All,
I haven't been here in a while. So sorry if this seems a bit mercenary.
I've got a copy of the huge and very rare Brian Bolland Judge Dredd poster from the 80s. It's about 5' tall.

If I've remembered right, it was only available in the old Forbidden Planet in Denmark St.
I have an eBay listing here. I'm asking £200 as that's what a couple of these have sold for recently but I'd do a deal here if any of you real fans want it. Please do read the listing for condition.

With barely days to go, I had an idea...

I was thinking about a Jenny one. Love this. Would love to see a 'Jenny' Spin-off.

The stupid child in me would have titled mine, 'Jenny tales' :-[

Good work so far Kev.

Thanks Keef, we've taken some of those suggestions and used them in this batch :)

Here's one not on that list that I've just sketched out - it made me laugh, so I thought I'd share it here:

Yep, League of Fatties, and that's a fattened up Minifigure!

Off Topic / My Lego Iron Giant Cuusoo Project

So Lego have this new-ish thing going where you submit product ideas to them. I built an Iron Giant a long time ago and was recently encouraged to submit it to CUUSOO.

Please support if you feel so inclined. Please also share with your friends... again, if you feel so inclined.
Thanks in advance!

That is a beautiful pic! Love the our price bag and the name of the club.

we don't see enough of you round here Kev, those lego pics went down a storm.

Thanks for the kind words DDD. Fatherhood, pure and simple has meant there's not enough free time for frivolities like the forum as much as there used to be! I'm glad the Lego commissions that Stront 71 had were well received too!

Thanks Emp, no similarity to the M'Sheen was intended but I like that too now you mention it!

Shameless, and I mean shameless self promotion here, this was a commission I did for Rob E of these parts a good long while ago now:

blog posting for ref

I'd love to see more Tyranny in the prog, and I'd like to draw her too! Happy to do commissions of Tyranny for anyone who has the inclination.

Film & TV / Re: Superman: Man Of Steel (2013)

I liked it. Perhaps not quite as much as I like Ironman 3, the previous film I saw, but I thought it was pretty good... perhaps they could have spent a tiny bit more time actually with Clark/Superman, and a little less on the (protracted) action sequences... but that would be the only real criticism I'd make.

I'd like to see another film come out of this incarnation, this was a 'set-up' movie and I'd like to see this world's version of the more familiar Superman and Clark Kent scenes.

Write a letter (enc. a SAE) to the command module. I've had a couple of different scripts from them in the past, iirc "Nobody" and "The Informant". Good luck!

Is this for real :o

Sadly, NO, and it probably never will be. I think the closest that *could* ever happen would be something like a custom built variation of the base Lego mini-figure using decals and specially produced accessories.

The thing I'd like most would be a convincing looking little Lego Lawmaster with Dredd on it!

Had a brief glance through this, Can I really conclude that the Emperor has turned up elsewhere?

If so, that's top, top news.

Events / Re: DREDD Screening. Board Meet up?

Was an honour to be there. I've had time to process it, and verdict is: it's great. I really enjoyed it.
I was a little taken aback by the violence, but on reflection, I think it was probably pretty in keeping with Dredd of the comics. I can certainly say that fans and non-fans alike will be able to enjoy the film, it hangs together nicely as a sci-fi thriller. Tight, fast paced, action packed - job done!

Afterwards, I was lucky enough to spend a few moments with John Wagner - cheekily showed him some of my work... he was very kind and I think, uncharacteristically for me, I was a little in awe of him.
Sad I didn't manage to chat to Carlos, but it was very cool that he made it too!

Was lovely also to catch up with old pals and board members I hadn't met before. Sadly I had to catch an early train home to help out with my little boy who's teething has been making him miserable!
