Well, he's seen of the Dull Duo and now the Doctor's claimed the scalps of a whole host of worse-than-Z-List celebrities beating each other up!

Satanist

Did you see whats replacing it though?!

Next on ITV, Celebrity Something Something
Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

LARF

come on it wasn't that difficult, a piece of shit on the TV for 45mins would have beat that pile of ITV tosh

Hahaaaa reality TV gets a kick in the teeth from the Unreality TV.

Best news Ive heard in ages

Quite frankly its about time.

Odd - ten years ago I'd have paid good money to see Jenny Powell wrestling with Victoria Silvstedt but when they actually put it on the telly I can't be bothered to watch.  I shall have to make do with closing my eyes and imagining once more...mmm... baby oil...

Also, it's disturbing that some people now have "careers" as reality TV regulars.

Be excellent to each other. And party on!

See that's the problem Tip...due to the bizarre timeslot they can't show anything good so no one watches it. If they had put it on at 10pm, with all women contestants, baby oil and ramped up the porn factor it'd have done much better.

As it is, everyone watches The Doctor instead

The I is for 'I can't remember the password to my other account' or Ian. One or the other.

Generally Contrary

"Celebrity Wrestling contestants include Ex-EastEnders actor Marc Bannerman, former tennis star Annabel Croft, Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton and reality TV regulars James Hewitt and Jeff Brazier.

ITV will be pinning its hopes on its next big reality TV show Celebrity Love Island, which begins on 16 May.

It will follow 12 celebrities enjoying themselves at luxury Fijian resort as viewers vote for who they think would make the best couple."

Have I fallen through the fiction/reality barrier and landed in the middle of The Day Today.

One of the love contestants is Abi Titmus - the celebrity shag machine... !

Artificial Idiot

See, I was estatic about this until I read the last few lines.

Heh, I bet ITV can't wait for Dr. Who to end. It not only topped Ant & Dec's serie finale, but now it's driven their latest show off  air? I say...

Roger Godpleton

The only good thing about Celebrity Wrestling, was that it enabled to win a debate I had with my mate about whether or not Roddy Piper was actually Scottish.

Then we turned it off.

And cried.
He's only trying to be what following how his dreams make you wanna be, man!

ITV, it seems, are slowly turning into the British version of the Fox network ...

They appear to fail to understand that such reality programmes have diminishing returns - you only have to look at Big Brother to understand that. Time and time again, they wring the life out of an idea until it withers and dies. Just look at the cull of garden/home shows recently - quite literally done to death ...

But....but....they've added CELEBERITIES into the mix!  It  can't fail!*

*  Oh yes, it will.

I think what it comes down to is the difference between the public's definition of the word 'celebrity' and the definition currently employed by ITV's researchers ...

WoD

While the ITV program is tripe of the worst kind, I think this speaks volumes about the quality of this new series of Dr Who.  I hope it encourages more, well handled (as well as well written) British Sci-Fi.

Well done to BBC Wales!

Amusing post-script-On teletext's TV pages they had Melyvn Bragg(can anyone take him seriously after Dead Ringers zinger of a parody?) pimping his new ITV show...on...er...ITV, saying how brilliant its cultural contribution is and how undervalued it is.

Naturally the next page carried the news of Celeb. Wrestling's demise!

Kinda says it all doesn't it?

P.S. I think Celeb Love Island could be a hit...Abi Titmus is a fairly big draw, the time slot is better, etc.
