Beyond Duty, Obsession...

Judge Dredd

What nonsense these lines are, make no sense whatsoever. One of Ennis' great flaws is his ridiculousy shallow machoness. The last page & line of Judgement Day being another example of his getting the character of Dredd wrong.

He should stick to everything else but Dredd. Monkey on my back was okay though.

His Miracleman stories were the most boring & pretentious stuff I've ever read. All words and no action.

This is probably what Norman Mailer meant about comics for intellectuals, more words than pictures. No thanks.

>The colouring in America 2 is REALLY bad, maybe it would have been better off in Black and white.

McNeill obviously didn't have the time to do a full paint job on it originally so he took a short cut.

I don't think it would have worked in black & white. Colin's art doesn't look to well in black & white unlike, say, McMahon.

>Actually what would be really great is if they released a complete America GN when part 3 is finished with part 2 recoloured by McNeill himself.

How do you know it will be complete when pt 3 is finished? There may eventually be 4,5 or 10 parts to America, hardly complete. They made that mistake with the last Titan collection by calling it the Complete America.

I don't think McNeill will re-paint America 2.

>I just realised the previous Titan edition of The Complete America has both previous stories reprinted. That's good to know, because now I've got to track them down to be read up for the new book.

It's worth it.

The last sentence of America 1 is the best last sentence of any comic, book, film, story et al.

America is dead... this is the real world.

>Which is why I hope after America 3 runs we'll see a complete America TP

Since it's an ongoing series it will hardly be complete when pt 3 is finished -I presume there will be more parts as Beeny ages.

Buy pts. 1 & 2 now, life is short, you could die walking across the road.

Don't wait for collections that could take years to appear.

>The end of America 2 was amazing and EXACTLY what was needed, it made perfect sense. And I own that page

You don't know how jealous that makes me. Wanna sell?

>loved America 2, haven't read 1, but I worry that 3 might be too contrived.

A continuing America storyline is a brilliant idea, it seems Wagner may has important plans for cadet Beeny that could have big consequences for the big meg & Dredd himself -who knows?

>My point is that the story was lost to many readers who wouldn't cough up for a generally poor product meaning the story never had the same impcat as Vol 1 which was universally read and adored.

Point taken, but I'd pay good money for that cover alone.

The trouble with America 2 is that it was buried in the mire of pish and reprints.

Don;t see what that has to do with the story. I think it's only  weakness, compared to pt. 1, is that the art is not fully painted but crappily coloured on a computer.

It's a different type of story compared to pt. 1.
