First Judge Dredd Megazine review on the new forum.  :)

New villain introduced in Dredd - the son of Fink. Real nasty type.

Bob the Galactic Bum ends. Have enjoyed it. Would like to see more of it.

Brian Bolland Judge Death poster: "Only resssting." Is this a hint the character will return? Brian Bolland returning and drawing a new Death/Dark Judges story. Now that would be something.

Peter Doherty interviewed - feature on Cat Sullivan. Plus the usual film/book reviews.

I'd rate this month's Meg 7.5 out of 10.

Long live Rufus in Lowlife. It must have been an absolute joy scribbling the picture for the first appearance of DREDD.

Tears nearly shed on the train full of strangers, I gulped down and remembered this forum. Glad he has the greystuff sorted too.

At the risk of setting it all off again, does the blue chimpanzee with what appears to be a wizard's hat on page 3 of Anderson qualify as a monkey in a hat?

A big WOOHOOT for Doherty's return. His nights are never too muddy and his desert day is easy on the eye, without losing the hot intensity.

Another case of Cat and ahem Rat methinks..Wagner style.

Good to see Doherty give Dredd a particularly cruddy look in the final panel.

well done to mr molcher for the incredibly candid Pete Doherty review - it managed to be a perfectly good read without any of the can-i-crawl-up-your-backside comments that seems to be abound these days

Son of Fink was horrible... and I mean that in as positive a way as possible.

Peter Doherty is a charming bloke, and a gentleman of the first order. I approached him back in the early 90s -- just as he was starting to get seriously established as 2000Ad/Meg artist -- with an invitation to put his name to a movie-based project I was touting at the time. Despite the fact that I was entirely unknown, Peter liked what he read and happily agreed to be linked to the project and contributed several entirely gorgeous full colour character sketches for use in the proposal even though (if memory serves) he was up to his eyes drawing Judgement Day at the time.

Mr Dohery - I salute you, sir!

Cheers

Doherty and Burns' art probably have a polarized readership. But even when the storys underbelly is scraping along the ground a tad, you still oggle at the work through the art.

There were promises to open Aimee's character up and this graphics team have really done it. In a stylish, well written, none too formulative way.

Any squaxx out there able to fill me in on the McCready situation? I was off lawschool sick that afternoon.

Here's a good one.  I got my Meg 273 last Thursday, and sat down to read it that evening.  Ratfink!  Radwagons! Parylsin' pizen!  Sexy girls in peril! Cool! Gazed at the fantastic Dayglo art on Lowlife, and marvelled at how well Williams did introducing Dredd.  Then I got stuck into the Peter Doherty interview, which was a masterclass in interviewer restraint, so little did Molcher insinuate himself into the text that it was like having a conversation with Doherty yourself - quite brilliant.  The I saw the Cat Sullivan interview, lapped that up and set the magazine down satisfied.  It was only last night, while doing a bit of tidying, that I picked up the Meg again and noticed that I'd missed two whole stories, the review column and the letters page, all of which I subsequently enjoyed.  That's a nice bit of value there.

Oh, I forgot:  for Grud's sake, a chimpanzee BY DEFINITION cannot be a Monkey in a Hat.  I wish Anderson would remember her experiences on Mars sometime.

Overall, I've enjoyed the Galactic Bum saga. It's been refreshing, not to mention excellent to see the Matador of the mark relaxed and showing loving drifts of line.

Enough with the poetry, as I remark upon the duo team. Its been like a weekend in the pub wi' the two scots, /Grant and Wagner.

A really easy going story holding possible overheard conversations at their ideas camp. ei The Frog and Partidge.(made up pub).

Nice bits of satire at some points and maybe even a dig at themselves as they get slightly nostalgic about their working together in comics.

All in all... good read.
