I'm not enticed by mention of 'the spy stuff' in volume 2. Will I miss anything if I skip straight to Vol 3?

A load of continuity, a load of cool artwork and a couple of genuinely disturbing moments. None of it is bad.

But when Bill quotes something that happened 40 years ago, I see no relation with contemporary times (times changed since 1960s and 1970s).

What do you think?

I think 40 years ago was the 1980s.

Both covers are based on the film poster for "The Sting", which in turn is modelled after the illustrations which appeared on front of The Saturday Evening Post in the 1920s, which have also inspired covers for other publications...

Those are some weirdly shaped blobs. Could be a character wearing a cape and some sort of bird perched on a branch.

My guess is that Rebellion have done a deal with DC Thomson to produce a gritty reboot of Bananaman in which he uses the inherent radioactivity of bananas to light his way through a haunted orchard in search of Appleman, (or something).

I don't think that could be considered a spoiler seeing as how he has the same name and it's the same actress playing his mother.

I'm pretty sure Fruit of the Loom is what they're currently using.

Like that Darwin moron? You know, the muppet who keeps banging on about how we all descended from monkeys when everyone knows that God made us...

(And no - I'm not comparing Wakefield to Newton or Darwin, just to be clear. I'm talking about assessing information and ideas, not people.)

Exactly what point do you think you are making?

I think the inclusion of the tweet about Stan Lee says more about whoever put together that collage than anyone else.

Either the non-political example in your analogy uses logic twice or they're a half-wit who's just bought a wardrobe for no reason.

Well, if you want something more like a live-action original Gatchaman, you could always try and track down the original live-action Gatchaman...

Actor John Saxon (Enter the Dragon, Battle Beyond the Stars, Nightmare on Elm Street and more) has died, aged 83.

(File that one under Thought He'd Long Gone)

Not long gone, but you are a year late with the news.

Anyone else still waiting on this? My copy has yet to turn up.

There was an advert on telly about 15 years ago, which had CGId the cast of Happy Days into it. I remember seeing some bloke upload it to YouTube as an example of an urealistic portrayal of history due to its ethnically diverse nature. He thought there were far too many people of colour hanging around with Fonzie and the gang and that this would never happen back in the 1950s.

The advert was for the Citroen C3. Everybody in the advert was driving one.
