Plus I have just bought tickets to see the Mission and the Neffs FLASHBACK TIME!!!!!

Bolt-01

... because the wonderful folk who print my comics have been working today to make sure that on Monday morning I'll have ZARJAZ 11 in my digits!

Postals will start being prepped that night so hopefully folk should have them before Kapow.

Who's in the Nephilim now apart from McCoy?
I saw the Astoria gig in 2007 and it just wasn't the same for me without the other original members.
The Mourning Sun album was really good but I'm not so keen on seeing them live now. If the classic line up was back together I'd be very excited and wouldn't miss it.
Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side.

Grud, i cant remember the how long ago it was i last saw the mish. Possibly portsmouth pyramids in 1993/94? I had no idea they were still alive, let alone playing. Is it just wayne now and a bunch of session musicians?

They've worked very hard on the live performances since 2007 -- they're definitely worth seeing (at a decent venue, that is. The NEC Hellfire gig had all the atmosphere of a sports hall). The Mission are playing with their original line-up, including Craig Adams and Simon Hinkler.

Cheers!

Good to hear. I've been a huge fan of the Neph for many years and saw them quite a bit back in the day. Maybe I'll catch 'em again some time.
I never quite got in to The Mission but did see them on the tour for the Carved In Sand album at Bournemouth, it was a good gig.
The Nephilim were really the only goth band I really liked.

Definitely Not Mister Pops

Ah ...The Mission.
A good friend of mine used to stash his porn DVDs in his The Mission CD cases.
His Missus hates The Mission ye see ;)
You may quote me on that.

I'd love to see the Mish/Neph combo... I wonder if some kind soul could post a bit of it on YouTube?... Pretty please with goth on top?
The hippo has wisdom, respect the hippo.

Why are they playing together? Is this one of those nostalgia things, like when limahl and bucks fizz team up with adam ant? This isnt part of some 'bat to the 80s' goth rock revival tour thing is it? Can we expect jesus and mary chain, the sisters and the cult to be there too, as for some reason they always got lumped together on compilation tapes, along with whoever they were that did marthas harbour?

Yup, Wayne did an interview and he said it was pure nostalgia. The Mish aren't playing anything that wasn't played by the original lineup.

I presume they all need a new kitchen or something and I'm okay with it as long as it doesn't become a habit like with the Sisters.

And yeah I presume Carl McCoy is the only Nephster left. He's pretty hard to work with. The recent live videos on You Tube seem okay though.

Most of the Nephs can be found intermittently recording as part of Tony Petit's goth supergroup/tag team The Eden House, whilst the Wright brothers (no, the other Wright brothers) record and tour as Last Rites (geddit?).

Tony Petit also plays guitar for NFD which also features Bob White on vocals, who was also frontman for Rubicon, the original 'everyone except Carl' Nephilim offshoot, Rubicon.

(Bob also fronted Sensorium, who were a few shades heavier than the Neph spinoff bands, but who I rather liked.)

And, yes, the current Carl-only incarnation of the Fields have worked hard to cement a live reputation after a slightly shaky start -- although UK gigs have been thin on the ground the last couple of years, they've been all round Europe, headlining M'era Luna in '08, and are top act at Wave Gotik Treffen this year. Pretty good for a band with only four albums in 25 years, and only one this century!

Best news I've heard all day -- I might actually know some of the songs!

Cheers
