Off Topic / The Annual Xmas I-Spy Thread!

Nobody else seems to have kicked this one off, so I thought I'd shoulder the heavy burden and bring joy and relief to those of us still idly dossing off at our desks.

I spy, with my appropriately-sized optical orb, something beginning with 'S'.

It's on my desk, to give you a clue.

Y'know, I'm sure this one's come up on the board before. But never mind, prepare to be assaulted (possibly again) with the hearty blast of my brushes with fame!

When I was a kid, I walked past the Chuckle Brothers outside my village post office.

When I was about 18, I stood behind Richard Whitely in a bus stop queue. When the bus arrived, though, he ducked out of the queue and went into a nearby chippy instead.

More recently, I've shared a lift with Peter Andre, been in the same cafeteria as Des Lynam and passed Susie Dent out of off'f Countdown's Dictionary Corner in a corridor.

Ah, tits. I'm away from the board for a few days and when I get back I'm suddenly informed that I'm a) due to die at the age of 48 and b) not as awesome-cool as I thought I was. Puts a right crimp in your day, that.

McCoy for me, who was indeed the Doctor of my youth.

Least favourite is Tennant, though I think that's not so much his fault as the bounder Davies's.

The greatest pies in the world are made by the wonderful geniuses at Pieminister. Check them out at all good festivals, on the interwebs, a stall on Covent Garden Market now and then and, most excitingly of all, your local fucking Waitrose.

Go, eat one now, thank me later.

Seriously, who the fuck actually wears gloves?

Gentlemen of style and taste, dear Godpleton. Perhaps that's why you're not aware of the phenomenon.

It's been such a busy week, and we make so little rubbish in our house, that we forgot to empty the bins this week and put the rubbish out. Good job we're vegetarian non-smokers, or there'd be quite a stink by the back door by next Friday.

You think that's bad; here in Leeds, the binmen have been on strike since July.

Yep, you read that right. I certainly support their demands, but that doesn't stop me considering buying some kind of nose filter for the walk to work.

Yes he's on a mission but it helps that Artoo has been on Tatooine before.

Yeah, but so has Threepio.

Ok now that looks great. That said is it my imagination or is Gemma Arterton currently in every film being made???

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

314 was introduced in a Kenny Who story wasn't he? The one with the Hoolie.

I could be wrong, but didn't he appear earlier than that as Orlok's advocate?

Pshaw! Gavin and Stacey is wonderful. Just because it doesn't feature stompy robots and explosions, doesn't mean it can't still be funny.
