Suggestions / Re: 2000AD beat 'em up

I would love to see GTA: Mega City One, but only if it was produced by Rockstar Games. Rebellion games just don't seem to be genre defining. Lets face it, how many times have they reskinned Aliens vs Predator? Four Legged Vampires in Mega City One?!? C'mon it was bleedin' obvious!

How embarrassing, it's a braver man than most who'd come back from a slagging like that and apologise.

it's great to see Gordon continuing the character development. He's got a real handle on John's creations

The two are becoming pretty interchangeable when it comes to Dredd. Had this weeks episode come with no creator credits I would've assumed it was Wagner writing.

On another subject, how cool is caballistics getting?!? I love the fact that you know more is going on than Rennie is letting us in on. That unknown quality, not knowing where the characters are headed really keeps the series on a knife edge. Can't wait for the collected editions to come out. Easily the best strip in the prog!

Is it just me reading too much into Dredd this week, or did Rico behave a bit off with uncle joe at the end? He seemed a bit harsh first in telling Vienna about her uncle giving up his badge, which looked to have changed her mind about the Dredd clan, and then in telling Dredd that he couldn't see Vienna ever again.

The problem of collecting isn't the cost but the bloody amount of space 20 odd years of thrill power takes up. Having collected tooth since being a kid I'm really reluctant to ditch my collection in favor of creating more space at home. Having said that, I've just had to ditch all efforts of keeping my progs in chronological order and dump them in the biggest boxes ever so I could cram them into the loft. Hope my forthcoming newborn appreciates the lengths I've gone too to build a nursery. I've lost my comic room at home. Even the PS2 has being relegated to the bottom of the wardrobe!

Not sure the ending of Dredd was attempting to set up a future story in any way. Just read it that Gaia was predicting any old cits death. But maybe I'm wrong.

Don't know how anybody can say the reset button has being hit. Total War not only resulted in the nuking of several sectors, which will probably impact future stories much in the same way the Apocalypse War has for the past 20(?) years, but we've seen Dredds motivations change. His duty to his family came first before his duty to the law. We've also seen how flawed the Fargo/Dredd clone project is and the extremes it's being taken too. I think rampaging Dredd clones might play a part in future stories. I also think the final panel was quite symbolic. The badge divided by two frames. Could this symbolise a new division in Dredds makeup? Total War has opened up more plot lines and possibilities than it resolved. Personally I can't wait to see what Wagner has got in store for 2005!

"I wasn?t expect a lot of depth from a JUDGE DREDD comic"

Isn't it about time 2000AD stopped trying to trade off Garth Ennis's name and print some decent stories for the US market? For my money I'd have opened up the DC/2000AD run of GNs with "America". A perfect introduction to Dredd & British comics. And more depth than an invincible superhuman in tights.

Help! / Re: Console advice
24 November, 2004, 03:34:08 PM
You're gonna need a couple of consoles if you want to get the best out of gaming. Personally I own a PS2 and Gamecube. The Gamecube games look better, Zelda: The Wind Waker probably being the best game I've ever played, but the PS2 has a bigger library and more adult orientated titles. If I didn't mind ending my marriage in divorce I'd probably go for a crystal X-BOX as well!
