Welcome aboard and have fun.

As for the images, as I'm intrigued to see them. Best bet is to load them to something like Flicker or the like and copy the url into the image button (bottom left button).

There's a little more here if you scroll down

Film & TV / Valley of Gwangi on today
28 November, 2010, 07:39:04 AM
If you have Freeview and have never seen it (or indeed if you have) the rather wonderful 1969 'Valley of Gwangi' is on Film 4 at 11am. Ray Harryhausen dinosaurs vs cowboys... if only someone had realised what a great idea for a comic strip that would have made...

Arkham Asylum?  From publication it's been a notable Batman work and has spun off a multi-million dollar videogame across all the major current gen consoles.  I don't think you can argue these books have to be mainstream to be included on the list either - Rising Stars is the definition of a flash in the pan and hasn't been on the radar for years, while Morrison's Animal Man run is still being plundered by flavor of the month writers nearly a quarter century after it was first published.

Oh yeah actually Arkham Asylum is probably a good exception.

I agree the list isn't entirely things that have touched the mainstream but on the whole it is. The other stuff seems to be the authors favourites, which in this type of list is always going to happen.

I remember reading something maybe a year ago about plans for a complete new English Corto Maltese, but nothing since.

I'd bloody love to see this happen. This and the Blueberry stuff is impossible to get hold of in English... of course meaning I should dramatically improve my French but that's even more unlikely to happen.

To be honest much the same as last week, well I enjoyed the Terror Tale more than last weeks Future Shock, though the end was pretty telegraphed...

...as you were really.

Great cover mind.

Ok prog

Like I said earlier in the thread, I thought We3 would be the obvious candidate? Or is it just too short?

Speaking of We3 just seen this great news over at Bleeding Cool

QuoteFrank has has health issues, which is why he's reduced his output mostly down to covers of late and couldn't return to Grant Morrison's Batman And Robin. But, as well as his upcoming Multiversity book Pax Americana, he's been drawing new pages for the Absolute We3 edition. The original intention of the comic back in the day was to be three thirty-three page books, We3x33 if you will, but that fell by the wayside on publication. However that's the model for this Absolute version, increasing each issue's content by a full third. And Morrison has written the first eleven pages to be inserted into the first issue.

Oh my giddy aunt that Nemesis and Purity along side your Torquemada makes me want Pat Mills to pick up the phone and say.

"Listen PJ I've been thinking I got a Nemesis story in my head and..."

That's a great thing. Didn't something like this come up not too long ago and do quite well. Good luck

I'm not too surprised that there is no Grant Morrison there. He's not done that much 'worthy' stuff (as Emperor put it) that tickles the fringes of the 'real' mainstream in the way that many on that list do. He by and large does interesting and wonderfully written 'comics' mainstream stuff that us nerds love but doesn't always get the attention it deserves outside. Most of the stuff on that list can be found almost anytime on the shelves at Waterstones. Its the always in print titles that have touched the public consciousness.

I think the only exception is maybe 'All Star Superman' and that might be too recent?

Fairly run of the mill stuff for this type of thing with just a couple of curveballs thrown in. Still always good to see Asterix in this type of thing.
