Sweet merciful jesus, that site is nasty lookin'. I also get what you mean about Clickwheel, but I wouldn't know how to change it for the better. At least it works, I guess.

In other news, Australia has decided to allow Rebellion to release the game there after all! How generous of them!

Yeah, but Australia doesn't have an 18+ classification for video games, thus the ratings review board let the game through as an MA 15+.

I know what I was like at 15, but I'm not sure I'd want 15 years olds buying this game, ya know?

If I can't plug in a USB device of any kind, then I can't attach a keyboard or a mouse, so I can't put the iPad on a dock and write up a document on it or play a really basic game or anything like that?
I also can't plug in my 16GB USB Flash Drive with all my work documents, music and pictures on it? How am I supposed to get stuff to/from the damn thing?

Multitasking
Can the iPad only run one app at once? I can't read and listen to music, or have open a text editor and a web browser at the same time? I can't browse the web and listen to music?

What the hell use is this thing? Its a massive iPhone with half the portability. Why not just buy a Thinkpad Tablet for a little extra and get the functionality of both a laptop and a tablet, with windows instead of Apple iPhone OS or whatever it is.

Apples DRM also sounds pretty heinous, and I'm not sure I like the idea of them being able to disable the applications and media on my device.

I've watched ten episodes of Farscape in the last 36 hours and now I feel a bit sick.

The whole mechanism should be platform-independant, so browsing multiple machines, or two browsers at the same time it should be just fine. The Active Topics was a bit of a bodge though, so there is a possibility it's gone out of whack date wise.

If it happens again, usually hitting "Mark all posts as read" will un-jam it. I don't really know enough about the inner voodoo of SMF to help much more than that.

In what way isn't it working? It's working for me.

.. wait. It's all well and good adding these guys to categories, but we should probably simplify/automate and organise.. whatever it is we're trying to do here.


The Stories have a field for Character which is expandable, the idea being that you can list each character which has appeared in that story.

The Characters have a field to represent what series the character belongs to, not what they've featured in.

Surely the stories field is the one you want to fill out in this instance? I'm not sure we can successfully tie the Character noted in the Story to a Series, though.

Otherwise you'll have to add each series reference to the character template for each little appearance they make, and you'll have no record of WHERE they made the appearance. If we went that route then we should probably introduce a new field, like "appeared in", where you can list series.

The template isn't set up to loop through the Series field, thus characters can't yet belong to multiple series. Do you want the ability to do that?

Hey Mike, I noticed you deleted the content out of the "Back to the F##uhrer" page with the correupted name, then created it anew in "Back to the Fuhrer".

In future, instead of blanking the source page you can just click the "move" tab and change the name to what it should be, then change the data in the page to match. this will keep the modification history.

I'll sort out a template people can include which can be used to mark pages for deletion.

Depends what mood you're in. Story titles don't matter so much and might be more trouble than they're worth.

Slaine and Sláine are technically different, so the search results are correct (they shouldn't be ignorant of unicode). It's a bit of a bugger if you don't know, I guess, but I don't think there's any way to fix it.
