My desk is a muddy field and in it I keep our nation's sacred heritage.  :-\
Any swords of kings lying around?

'Soth!' is a personal fave that I use a lot. Nothing really beats 'sneck', but I also enjoy 'sweet Jovus son of Mavis'.
Soth is good but, for some reason, I've always thought it was somebody's name. Like Conan's "Crom!" It definitely isn't though.
Crom is somebody's name (well, Conan's god's name, anyway).

There was also 'fux' and 'vug' from Dredd, 'vuck' from some Si Spurrier one from the early 2000s, 'funk' from Savage, 'truck' from Nemesis and 'snut' from (possibly Millar only)  Robohunter.

Nobody said they all had to be GOOD swear words.

Not sure if I'd consider 'simp' a swear word - it's more a lifestyle choice.
I wouldn't include simp (but would include dok and snut - from the first couple of years of Tooth, as somebody else pointed out).

I'm sure I read somewhere that Pat had always intended for the Biz to work on Sláine, but wanted to get him into gear (and work out any learner's problems) by putting him on ABC for two thirds of the book.

Only read the Dredd tale so far - I'm wondering if we'll see an appearance by Walter (due to the reference to Lebowski's Nite Mart).

[1] This wouldn't rule out the coexistence of Christianity and a new, combined faith. Jews didn't stop being Jews just because Christians stole monotheism
Or possibly from Zoroastrianism...

I was wondering which dish it would have (just picturing Han and Chewie subscribing to Sky + now!)  Wonder if it will end up having interchangeable dishes?  Are there any other differences in the Falcon between old and new trilogies?

1. Mark Higgins: The Ballad
Sorry, everybody else - I couldn't decide between you all, but had to vote for Mark's work (even though it confuses me - why would aged-Halo appear to remember her time with Luiz, considering he's a genocidal murderer who spoiled her memory of a time when she thought she was innocent?)

Also confusingly, while checking I'd got the spelling right on General Cannibal's first name, I found another General Luiz Cannibal.  Wonder if that one is/was a Squaxx?

I've got a list of all MCPD references I'll post when I'm back at my PC. There's quite a few pre-Cursed Earth, though sometimes they're only referenced on a video camera LABEL. It's easy to retcon that Cal got rid of them when he took power.
I'd always assumed they were the vestiges of the old system, which were finally abolished while Dredd was on the moon.  Timeline-wise he spent six months in Luna City 1, the story Firebug, then however long he was in the Cursed Earth.  Immediately on his return we had the Day the Law Died, which took at least 100 days and involved a lot of reforms (to say the least).  One way or another we're looking at about a year of Dredd being away from normal duties, during which time the outdated police system could have been quietly disposed of.

Not 100% sure but here's a strange coincidence.

Most mornings on my ride into work, I pass a pair of cormorants sitting on a riverside piling. Today, just as I was passing, one of them thrust it's posterior into the air and let fly with a jet of steaming shit. I was so impressed, I stopped to send a Whatsapp message about it to my mate.
Funnily enough, for only the second time in my life (despite having lived near the sea in the past), I got hit by a seagull the Saturday before last.

There must have been a comedy episode where we found out at some point in the past, surely?  Is there anything like that in Jonathan Livingston Dog-Vulture?
