My girlfriend was watching Sausage Party and I caught the first twenty minutes or so.

Nope.

Seemed to be desperately trying to ape the tone of the type of thing Matt Stone and Trey Parker do, but it was just embarrassingly juvenile and unfunny.

Listened to podcast instead.

I walked in on my wife watching Sausage Party the other day, and rolling around in fits. Like you say, I gave it five minutes before realising I'd probably rather eat my own shit than watch another second of it. Definitely the worst film I've seen in ages.

I'm confused as to what an "advert for the LGBT movement" might hope to achieve that would in any way be something we may not like. Oh, unless the advert would convince straight, cisgendered folk to experiment with their sexuality, of course! And we wouldn't want that, would we? We wouldn't want MORE LGBT people, or people to be given the courage to come out.
We wouldn't want a TV show to give people ideas.

Not a huge fan of the 2012 film here either, though it has grown on me over subsequent viewings. I'm sure a compromise between the 2012 uniform and something a bit more like the comics could be found easily enough. It has to look practical, no question- but it doesn't have to BE practical. After all, no one troubles to break their piss laughing at the berk in the rubber bat suit, despite the fact that he can obviously barely move. It LOOKS like scary armour, and our suspension of disbelief does the rest.

Personally, I hope we get what is effectively Mega City NCIS, with an ensemble cast, futuristic crimes, and with Dredd in the Gibbs role- always there, but not necessarily the focus.

That gives me... I don't know what, actually. On the one hand, if I get stung and don't die, hurray! On the other hand I still have the fear that next time I will die.
I am somehow MORE scared now.
The thing is, I love bees. As a kid, I used to sit in the garden and have them land on me. I've even stroked a few.
I can't stand the confusion in my mind!

Welcome back to the forum SmallBlueThing.

We can only lament that the golden opportunity to rename yourself "SmallBlueThing (Cont)" has been missed.

I just literally spat out my coffee. Ah, thanks so much, and yes, that would have been so much better. Sigh.

I chose the right time to come back to the Board, obviously. Maybe I knew. Ah, maybe I did. Maybe I'm in the running to play Judge Throbb, the devilishly handsome Sector Chief who has a secret, which won't be revealed until episode 12 of series one. Clue: I'm secretly possessed by Judge Fear.
Whatever, it's tremendous news. Let's hope our illustrious Minty/S&D team get a crack at an episode, at least.

Driving home from a weekly shop at Aldi earlier, it's a relatively hot day, so we have the windows open.
Oh look, what's that massive cloud on the road ahead?
Oh my god, BEES!
Ten seconds later, the car was full of bees, I had a bee-covered face and my wife nearly swerved off the road.

Thankfully, didn't get stung. Double thankfully, as my mum is hugely allergic to bee stings and suffers anaphylaxis if stung- and I've never been stung, so I have no idea if I am too.

Ah, thanks guys. Yeah, nice to be back. And yeah, another sprogling to add to the six we already have between us. Hey ho. Maybe it'll be a girl this time.
Regarding medication, I should have said "take meds if they work for you", obviously. Personally, they do for me (although this time they have proved problematic), but if you choose other ways to deal with this hideous horror then, basically, whatever works- as long as it does.
I remember some times, back when I wasn't dealing with it all very well, that contact with Board members (either here, on fb, or in the flesh) was close to being all that got me through the day. The benefits of this forum can be massively underappreciated.

I've been reading through this thread and my heart goes out to all squaxx who have been suffering, or are currently suffering, from this bloody shite.
I've not been on the board for a good while, largely because my own black dog took a chunk out of me a few years ago and left me less of a person. Even now, after six months of talking therapy, Sertraline, a new wife and a baby on the way, I'm still nowhere near where I should be.
Tordleback's description above is on the money for me as well- I just bumble through my life, with nothing really making a difference, essentially waiting for it all to stop.
I'm very lucky that my wife is a mental health professional and cuts me lots of slack/ helps me through, but after 25 years of this (close to half my life!) I see no real chance of "getting better".
Anyway, to all who are living with it: keep going. Get tablets. Talk to a professional. Do all the stuff they tell you- exercise, get fresh air, eat well, don't drink, stop smoking. Do whatever it takes. And use this forum as a sounding board if necessary- experience tells me there are often splendid people here.
