You've spelt Hob's End wrong, you fool!

paulvonscott

I think it is spelt 'Hobbs', though I have it as Hobbs Lane for the TV series and it may have been Hobbs End in the movie.

Thread Zero

Nope - 'Hob's Lane' (Hob being an old name for the Devil) has been renamed 'Hobbs Lane' (like some non-demonic cricketer or other), but the tube station is still called 'Hob's End', although it's being renovated at the start of the story (by John Scott Martin the Dalek Man and That Bloke Off Blakes 7).

paulvonscott

It's more a reference to the way it was done in Quatermass than any real Tube/London map I think.  Though if I'm wrong then you are right I guess.

Does this help you, you damn fools.http://www.cv81pl.freeserve.co.uk/images/quatermass1.jpg">

Not really 'he who is possessed by spirits'.

I have no idea what I'm talking about now, I'll watch Quatermass and the Pit because I have a desire to watch it again.

karne

TV Quatermass = GOOD

Film Quatermass = BAD

Therefore Hob(b)s Lane it is.

No - it still doesn't say if the tube station located on Hobbs Lane is called Hob's End or Hobbs End, does it, hmm?

Slippery PD

Quirkafleeg

You mean to tell me Hob-Nobs are Satan's biscuits! No wonder they are so addictive

karne

karne giggles childishly at the thought of Gary's mouth round Satan's Hob-Nob.

Any show that demonises grasshoppers is worth watching. The chittery little buggers are laughing at us puny humans, you know.http://www.cv81pl.freeserve.co.uk/images/quatermass3.jpg">
