Creative Common / Re: Caio Oliveira Art Thread

In two words: COMIC SANS!

In slightly more words, I like it. You could do with varying the line weight a bit but I dig the style and there are lots of nice little details in the art.

Obviously with English not being your first language, the script needs corrected and tweaked in places so I would suggest handing the whole thing over to a letterer, but apart from that I'd say it's looking pretty good.

The only famous face I've ever been compared to is Seth Rogen. Share the curly hair, gingery beard and gut.

New look is good but I don't get what was wrong with the old one. Ah well, the winds of change and all that...

Just need a decent banner and a smite button. I wants me a smite button...

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll wait till payday. Saying that, with this universe wide reboot coming, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle.

Books & Comics / Re: DC to relaunch with 52 #1's

Meh. Never been a big DC fanboy. I've loved Batman since I was a kid but I've never kept up enough to be aware of all the deaths, resurrections, Robins etc. I tend to read individual GNs that don't require the reader to be aware of every little piece of the continuity.

This might prompt me to start reading a few of the books I've never bothered with, but we'll wait and see. DC's stable has never really appealed apart from Bats, Nightwing and Green Lantern.

Not 2000ad related, but can anyone suggest a reading list of the more recent Green Lantern stories? I've never read many of the comics, but I have a rough idea of the character. With the film imminent, I want to do a bit of background.

I've heard that Rebirth is a good jumping off point.

Ah, that would make sense. Thought I'd found my Watergate.

Look forward to reading the books on my new Kindle.

Hey Wayne, don't know if you knew about this but the CDC seems to be using the art for your book:

Incidentally, do you have Kindle friendly versions of your stuff available?

I knew I'd seen it somewhere. As always, if in doubt, check with Jim.

Cheers!

Did I see somewhere a guide to creating SFX that acts as a single object but is still, in fact, a text element? By which I mean, SFX that you can go back into and edit as you would any other piece of text but that retains the attributes of an 'add shape' element.

Can anyone suggest a reason why the Space+Hand scroll function has switched off in PS and Illustrator? It is really starting to bug me now...

As far as I understand it, anyone who is resident in Scotland is entitled to a vote. That means anyone from any ethnicity or background is allowed to vote as long as they are on the electoral register in Scotland. As for ex-pats, I have to admit that I'm not sure.

Cheers for that Foxy. For some reason images linked from Imageshack aren't showing up on the forums I use. Weird. Plus Photobucket kept giving me upload failed messages.
