I hope Kim will be okay, but she obviously won't be because she's not in Breaking Bad. Oh dear!

That doesn't mean she's not around *during* Breaking Bad, though. Jimmy could be going back home to her at the end of the day.

Kochanski would have to be Chloe, for me. I think the stuff around her appearance in Back To Earth was truly great so she's earned it.

I'm talking more circumstances than desire to do more.

Anyone else feeling like this might have been the last outing for the Boys From The Dwarf, given current circumstances? Not out of the question that there could be more, by any means, but I can certainly envisage it being the case.

Surprised there's no discussion of this show going on here right now. Last few episodes have been INTENSE!

A virus from China that originated in Bats found the perfect host,

Is that true?  Last I head that was just one of the theories - didn't realise it had been confirmed.  Source?

I'd say "leading theory" rather than confirm. Not sure you really can confirm something like that.

"Scientists say it is highly likely that the virus came from bats but first passed through an intermediary animal in the same way that another coronavirus – the 2002 Sars outbreak – moved from horseshoe bats to cat-like civets before infecting humans."

Yeah the stasis thing doesn't bother me, it's not like the cat race wouldn't have access to that tech if they're capable of building spaceships.

Besides which, I think holding modern Dwarf to a standard of continuity higher than the era of the show it's often negatively compared against is a little unfair. (Though it is of course fun to discuss!)

It has been suggested (on the excellent Ganymede & Titan podcast reaction) that it was consciously fudged a bit because "Anubis Stone" reads better to a layman than "Bastet Stone". Not official but plausible.

Bloody loved it. Forgot what was going on in the world for much of that two hours, which is no easy feat.

I appreciate how much they did with certain characters that felt like something fresh and new for them (Rimmer, Holly, Cat) rather than just retreading old jokes and it certainly felt like a worthy story to tell in this format.

And didn't it look and sound great, too?

The Platform.

Quite enjoyed that, in a was-also-pretty-disturbed sort of way. The sound design didn't help my misophonia at all when the characters were greedily stuffing their faces at various points but it wasn't that big a deal.

An interesting concept and I like how much was left ambiguous, despite seeing that as a criticism of the movie. You know about as much about what's going on as the characters do by then end and, whilst that might be unsatisfying for some, it worked for me.

Watched 'Climax' last night, after putting it off for a long time because I thought it might be a bit crap or one of those movies that's soft porn disguised as horror. Boy was I wrong! I was exhausted by the end but it was absolutely mesmerising at parts. Then it was also pretty disturbing and traumatic. It reminded me a lot of how I felt watching 'mother!' which I left feeling like I'd been beaten up but still enjoyed the shit out of.

Probably not for everyone, but highly recommended if you like psychological fuckery. Also one of those movies that makes you wonder about how it was made so I enjoyed reading up about the making of.

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. While not as good as Excellent Adventure it's still wonderfully uplifting viewing. Be excellent to each other is a disarmingly apt idea these days.

I've always preferred Bogus Journey, then that was the one I saw first which is often the case when it comes to favourites

The Hunt (not the Mads Mikkelsen film!)

Went into it with low expectations but that was very enjoyable indeed! Maybe I misremembered the trailer but it was more comedic than I had expected, which worked in its favour as there's a particular plot point that didn't work for me but you're having so much fun that the story doesn't really matter so much.

Betty Gilpin is (unsurprisingly, as the lead) the show stealer with a very memorable performance, her character oddly reminded me of Villanelle from Killing Eve throughout, accent aside.

Recommended!

That's a very weird trailer for Red Dwarf...

It's done trailers with that sort of tone before (though this is just a teaser, I imagine a full trailer with arrive at some point), I seem to remember at least one of the last two had more of a focus on drama.

I don't mind it, to be honest. When it returned for series X, it was like they were scared to show anything other than "it's funny, we promise!!" and so it was just a collection of gags. Whereas my favourite type of Dwarf trailer is the one they released for series 8 (which, ironically, is one of my least favourite series) which in itself was obviously a parody:
