Merry Christmas everyone!
I think you were a wee bit hard on yourself there Pete, I preferred that to the crappy Death Miniseries that ol Adi Shankar gave us. Here we go into December then.....ho ho ho
Hahahahaha
Mr Wells that is genius
I'd go as far as say it will be difficult to top
Proper belly laughs out of me
Absolutely loved it
I doth my cap
Merry Christmas
Beeks
Is that all I'm getting this year and I've been a good boy, it's those others that put me up to it :'(
Excellent Start Pete, can't wait to show Caz and Sam the video
Glad I stayed up for this! It's true Pete, this release of JD: Superfiend invites favourable reappraisal of your entire festive oeuvre. This year's one was particularly brilliant, especially 'beloing®' and Queasy, and some not-half-bad Dredd action shots.
All sssssinging isss a crime!
Bravo :)
Brilliant !!! That's gotta be the best Oor Burdis to date!!
Ah, lovely comments to wake up to guys, thank you!
If you think that 'singing' was bad, that was actually version 3! The first time I tried to sing as Death, and it was cringingly awful. The second I tried to sing normally and it was worse! So, unfortunately for you lot, Northern yobbo voice won he day.
Genius! Alfie Boe has nowt on you Pete and the Oor Burdis strip had me in stiches! Cheers fella! :D
Voice of an angel that man, voice of an angel. Always a wonderful day when Pete sets off the calendar with a dosh of his own comic genius.
I salute you sir.
So YOU ARE the artist on Adi Shanker's films, are you Adi Shanker (I can't tell because he hides behind that mask)
Fantastic work Pete. A really great way to start off another wonderful Advent Calender. They both had me in hysterics.
Not the first time you've had to gag Burdis is it, Pete? :P
Excellent work Pete.
Hollywood quakes!!
Someone PM me what that naughty CF's been up to ;)
Brilliant.
I love the oor burdis!
Well Pete, I just showed it to the family. Caz commented on your excellent singing voice and Sam walked out in disgust :D
Good old Sam impeccable taste as ever!
As fer you Scowlin, that was great! A proper Dredd-world photo story, who'da thunk it? A great way to celebrate all you mad cos players! Thank you sir!
Great start chaps!
Oor Burdis was down on last year's wot I was in but it was redeemed by an even shiteier video - well done Pete, who says practice makes perfect?!
Lovely stuff Scowlin although I'm sure your strip qualifies as contraband itself! Too much Burdis but otherwise great stuff.
Great work Scowlin! Quite clever use of all those different convention pics, to enabe the story to flow.
Cheers Scowlin, that was a real treat to start the day with and brought another grin to my face. :D
Nicely done SM! Thanks for the smiles. I love this thread every year.
Excellent vidslug, Pete. It had me laughing right from the beginning. I really think it's down to you to do the actual Dredd sequel. You're our only hope, Grud help us.
And a cool photo story there, Scowlin!
Eamon's entry today is absolutely marvellous!!! The Dark Judge Returns!!! I'm nicking that for the covers blog!
Ha! I can't stop looking at it!
Hah, love the advent calendar for it's inventiveness.
Up with this sort of thing!
Dunk!
Ooh, a new serial! Nice one!!
Excellent re-imagining of a classic cover with a 2000ad spin from Eamonn - great stuff!
Thanks all for the photo story appreciation. It was a tribute to my first two years 'in uniform', and to those who made it all posdible.
I'd like to thank Steve Geeen for giving me permission to use his pics, and also to the following folk who said I could use their fizog:
Burdis
Dave Court
Lauren Integra
Liam Lemmy Matthews
Paul Labelle
Glen Broadway
Victoria Matthews
Tara Court
Michael Van Kesteren
Thanks guys!
Both offerings are top notch! :D
Lovely contributions all round so far. Well done, us!
Did mine in Manga studio 5 and was quite pleased with how it turned out considering I can't draw.
Very clever cover eamonn, I wonder if that image is in the story itself (and before anyone says, I know it's the Batman cover).
Well done Bolt & Lee, I'm looking forward to the next part of your festive tale. Perhaps one day there will be a collected hardback of these from the House of Tharg ;)
Aw brilliant Bolt and Lee! I chuffing love the advent calendar!!!
Great poster Eamonn and in my humble opinion, very clever! :D
Thanks to Lee and Bolt for this five day treat...can't wait to see todays when I get back later this evening. :D
Thanks to Beeks for his brilliant contribution today which will remind me to try and not over indulge over xmas. :) ;)
Yeah, that was a cautionary tale alright - don't stuff your face, and wear a Kevlar vest. Nice one Beeks!
The ongoing serial looks great.
And I love a Nilly Bunter reference, Mr Beeks.
Thanks folks :D
Just want to say a special thanks to Fungus for the artwork
Thought he did a splendid job on young Stephen :)
Some great contributions all round this year and only 4 days in!
What a treat!
Great Death silhouette there, eamonn1961. Whets my appetite for thrills to come in the bumper prog.
Really enjoying Santy Claws, Bolt-01 and Lee. Looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds. Always felt more could've been done in the townships so this is a treat – a fine place for an Xmas tale.
Much as I am being grumpy and resisting Christmas spirit (still seems early to me), entries such as Beeks and Fungus are making me feel all Xmassy. Well done on that fine piece of work.
Top Carol Beeks!
Santy Claws is shaping up to be something special. :)
Lord a mussy me, but I love the advent calendar. Only got up to speed with it this morning.
Brilliant work all round so far. Being absolutely flat out with work, I got up at 6am today, knackered, groggy and unhappy - until the last line of Pete's song made me laugh out loud (in the original sense of the phrase).
Looking forward to the rest of it (and to contributing!).
The Bolt-01 and Robson combo is here early again and the plot thickens and Dredd considers his moves.
Loving it all
Best time of the year, and as usual every entry has been zarjaz.
Well lordy me Mike D's strip is a work of pure fried X-Mas genius, absolute Yuletide gold.
Well done sir
(enjoying the Dredd daily too bu will wait until we're done to comment on that!)

Well said, BCB! Everything so far has been top-notch. Sadly, that's a streak that'll break tomorrow, when my own feeble attempt is due... I'll probably post it shortly after midnight, assuming that I can somehow find a way to stop tinkering with it!
-- Mike
Ah, Mike- stop messing about with it and let it go.
Mike-D: That is a superb strip, and I'd love to have something similar in Zarjaz if you want to pitch...
Incredible work! The Angel Gang was great and I'm really enjoying the Santy Claws strip!
You know, these offerings should be bundled and printed. I'd snap up a copy!
Beeks and Fungus - just fantastic!!! Really clever.
MikeD - stunning! Please take Bolt up on the Zarjaz offer!
Bolt and Lee - Loving this, it's like the Daily Star Dredd!
I'm sure we all really appreciate the time you've all put into this!
Mr Mike Carroll that was drokking great!!! Loved every bit of it, the music was lovely, animation spot on and story was sweet. Nice little ending too. :)
:o What an instant classic from the Carroll household.
That was lovely :D
That was absolutely brilliant Mr Carroll
Loved the cameos from Jack Point & Morph!!
Also that Angel Gang strip was drokkin delicious
Hats well and truly off
Bravo
The Irish John le Mesurier, circa Bod :)
Just lovely, Mr Carroll, Sir !
Walter my personal highlight. Just grand....
Small print: I'm loving all contributions, looking forward to yet more...
I love you Michael Carroll.
Mike Carroll living the dream and still messageboard genius, is there a greater combination on Grud's green earth?
Wow! Forgot to mention fungas for the great artwork on the 4th December and I'm loving Lee and Bolts Daily Dredd, Bolts artwork is smashing as is Lees story. Last years 'Angel Gang' strip by Mike D blew me away, but this years was truly terrific! Especially loved the Mutant from the Judge Child saga and to cap it all off Mike Carrolls amazing contribution this morning brought back a wave of nostalgia from my childhood that seems to grow each year...great presents! Cheers everyone! :D
Ha, that was awesome. Trust me to pick the day after Mike Carroll! Great stuff from all so far. Bolt and Lees Daily Dredd, I love. That Angel Gang strip is beautiful, too. Love to see it inked up! ;)
Cambermeg Green is pure, pure brilliance. A Christmas Carroll for the ages
Mike Carroll is fookin' genius. That is all.
Cheers
Jim
That was great Mike!
Every year I think Mr Carroll can't possibly top the year before...and then he blows it, and most of the internet, out of the water. This is just superb, so many great character designs (and incidentally goes nicely with the 'Parsnip Junction' episode of Ed Reardon's Week).
Brilliant, Mike! It's hard to say what I liked best as it was all great though loved the Morph cameo and shiny Walter. I would have loved to see a chest-height flyby of the cadets before Hershey - Drew, Drew, McGrew, etc!
I can't imagine how long it took you to put together. Is there another episode next week? I'm now imagining a Dante adventure in the style of Captain Pugwash/John Ryan.
This daily Dredd strip is great! :D
It's like reading the paper every morning to find out what happens next!
I'm hoping Dredd has a heart..but I'm not holding my breath
Mike Carroll... :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P
CARROLLTACULAR :D
How long did that take?! Amazing :o
That was fantastic animation work Mike. Brilliant stuff!
Keep 'em coming please. :)
Thanks Lee and Bolt, I wish there was more of this story. :)
Beautiful Art Darren, love all the detail and the blurred city scape through the window really adds depth. I love the gag too...Santy klegg! Love it! :D
Sensitive Klegg as Santa it is he playing old St Nick Klegg?
Brilliant stuff, Mr Stephens
It's always good to see Sensitive Klegg make a misunderstood appearance! I also loved Clarence going for a second set of wings re the Angel Gang!!
Santa Klegg  Love it.
Glad everyone seems to like Cambermeg Green! The idea came from a conversation I had with Leonia about this year's advent calendar: originally I was working on another Christmas Presents from Another Dimension scene, but Leonia suggested I should do something animated instead. I resisted that idea at first because I figured it would take too long to do anything complex, but then she said, "Keep it simple. Do a Mega-City One version of Trumpton or something like that."
We bounced a few story ideas around, and quickly developed some rules to keep it Trumptonesque:
1. The characters don't have mouths (yay! No lip-synching!), so the story is mostly told through the narrator.
2. The character designs should be pretty basic: this is why the Judges don't have knee-pads, elbow-pads or badge-chains, and why there's no detailing on their badges, belts or shoulder-pads.
3. The camera is almost always stationary because it's tricky to move the camera when doing stop-motion animation (but I allowed myself to break this rule after Dredd addresses the narrator!).
4. It shouldn't be too violent - Trumpton and its neighbouring towns aren't know for their levels of violence. You'll notice that there are no Lawgivers in Cambermeg Green, not even a holster for them on the Judges' boots.
I wasted about two days trying to design MC1 buildings that looked like they were made of painted cardboard, but they just didn't work - they were too distracting.
I also spent far too long trying to make the characters' movements look slightly jerky to mimic the stop-motion effect. Like most stop-motion of the time, the Trumpton shows were animated at twelve frames per second, which is pretty much the lowest FPS rate you can use to maintain the persistence of vision (that's the illusion that the objects are actually animated, as opposed to a series of individual frames), but I wasn't easily able to copy that effect in the time I had available.
Quote from: CrazyFoxMachine on 06 December, 2014, 01:38:02 PM
How long did that take?! Amazing :o
In total, it took about eight days to do the graphics (so that comes to about 17 seconds per day, which is actually a very high rate compared to real stop-motion animation!), then about three days to stitch the individual shots together and do the narration and music. Leonia did the voice of Mrs Gunderson, but didn't want to be credited for that because Gunderson's voice appears after the credits roll up on Walter's screen: if the rest of the story is supposed to be an old cartoon that Walter is watching, it wouldn't make sense for Gunderson to be credited on that cartoon!

Thanks, Eamonn!
Oddly enough, that was actually one of the easiest shots to animate! The trick with something like that is to move the vehicles (they all move at pretty much the same speed) then work out the path the Judge has to take. It required a little tweaking here and there to make sure Giant didn't clip or pass through any of the vehicles, but not much.
Getting Hershey to throw the book, on the other hand, was a nightmare - though mostly that was because it took me ages to tweak the book's path so that it passed under the camera with the front of the book closest to us... Which can barely be seen in the clip!

shaolin_monkey - Really great work and plenty of laughs too.
eamonn1961 - Fantastic work. Clever idea, excellently executed.
Beeks - Awesome and some nice artwork there too.
-MikeD- - That was incredible, great art and excellent story.
Mike Carroll - Lovely. This put such a big smile on my face and several laughs too.
Bolt-01 & Lee - A fantastic daily treat. Great art and story.
Darren Stephens - Excellent. Made me love Sensitive Klegg even more.
shaolin_monkey and Steve Green - Great idea. Still laughing at it.
very good stuff so far, best Dredd animation released this year by a cursed earthmile
Cambermeg. Wow.
Stu, that is inspired! It has a real 'Attack of the Mutant Snow Goons' vibe about it! All the battered snow perps in the background made me chortle!
Nice one Stu :)
Snow Judges, staring us in the face!
A wonderful couple of days! Just like in real life, the advent calendar is the first thing I do when I wake up, so getting up in December is a real treat! Over the last few days:
Mike Carroll: I watched this when I'd come home pissed on Friday night. When I woke up with my stinking hangover on Saturday morning I thought I'd dreamt about a Trumpton MC-1, so it was a nice surprise that it was real! Beautiful stuff!
Bolt and Lee: finished the tale in fine style, Dredd is a shit, isn't he?
Darren Stephens: Santative Klegg was beautiful! So many fun little details in the picture, glorious!
Shaolin Monkey & the tireless Steve Green: Breathtaking stuff, the Sale of the Century music was inspired!
Stu: Good Grud, that's brilliant! I love Mean's arm! It's a beautiful picture!
Thank you to all for putting a sloppy grin on my fat face!
Thanks Shaolin_Monkey,

Nice work shaolin. I've got some juicey tidbits for the justice dept. Where can I pick up my muncie vouchers?
Great card stu!
The Judge Pal advert was Sweeeeeet! ...and a great bit of Cheese! :D :D Thanks Shaolin and Steve Green. Stu, I loved your card it made me chuckle and the artwork is awesome. Seeing the amazing hand made Lawmaster toy in todays contribution by Tiplodocus and his brother reminded me of waking up on Christmas years ago to unwrap a Thunderbirds 2 Dinky toy...Thanks for that. :D ...I also remember driving my parents mad asking for one! :D
Love that Lawmaster, Tiplodicus! One of the ideas I had for this year's calendar was a Lawmaster version of the old rev-up Evil Kneivel bike. I used to love that as a kid!
A scratch built Dredd! Fantastic toy Tiplodicus!
Brilliant work from all so far. I am genuinely excited to see what each day brings. It it's like being a kid all over again! Finally managed to start my entry as well so should be ok for the 21st.
Keep up the good work all and keep them coming! :P

Fantastic tree decoration!
Thanks folks.
I've never tried to paint a figure before and the brushes I got (£1.50 off Ebay for 10!) were horrible. They were all really stiff. I was tempted to tidy it up in Photoshop but I decided that would be cheating so I put it up in its rather flawed glory.
Here are all of them from the last four years.

I already have an idea for next year.
Loving all the posts so far. This really is the thread of the year and its a real joy to see what appears each day.
Well done everyone. I'm looking forward to the rest.
Merry Thargmas!
Nicely done Albion! All it needs is a Lawgiver. :)
Beautiful Christmas tree decoartions Albion, cheers for sharing! :)
Loved it Albion, has a naive charm. (please take that as a compliment)
Great Advent goodies from Tips and Albion, the highlight of the Advent Calendar every year is the diversity and creativity shown. Git bloody clever squaxx!
Damnit JayzusB.Christ I can get 4 but that final one is escapin' me... well unless that snowball throwing sheep in number 2 is Inspector Raam!
I think I found number 5 but I'm not 100% sure....
Incredible work there Jayz. Really great! I've only found one reference so far, and I bet it was the easiest one too. ;)
Eamonn, you can do my Christmas baking any time! Hope it tastes good too.
Awesome work Jayzus. Zarjaz idea.
I think I've found all five.
I've got all 5, gonna send a PM now! Gotta be one of the most original entries we've had yet!
Cheers Jaysus!
Thanks for your kind words, all. ALready got a few entries - forgot to say, though, you've got till the 17th to PM me, so don't worry if you don't get them all straightaway!
Bloody hell, brilliant idea, but I must be the thickest 2000AD fan ever - I can only see two of the five!!
That's a great job you've got there.
I've found four. I think. Dubious about one of 'em.
It's all starting to hurt now... ;)
Definitely found 'em all I think - top job Jayzus amazing stuff!
Wow the gift that keeps giving, pretty sure I'm on four of the five references. Will keep checking back to scan for the fifth.
Heck of a lot of work in painting those windows JayzusB, did it take you a long time? Would have loved to stumble across something like this while out doing the christmas shopping (however that's all done online now thank grud)
Love the Dredd gingerbread Eamonn, and the picture quizz by jayzusB.Christ is a great idea...but I can only see two of the five...D'oh! :-[

Heck yeah, free time and even sleep have been scarce commodities over the last few weeks. My regular colourist has found a proper job too, which has added to the pressure. Looking forward to finishing the Christmas rush
Eeeee Rogue! Love the smoke stylization. Can't wait to read more!
Hope you don't mind if I share, with credits of course.
Don't check everyday like I should do, but adored everything up to now, especially the Zarjaz team comic, Sensitive Klegg, and Judge Snowman.
It looks as if megbus is going to give us another Christmas treat. Fantastic!

Awesome work on the Rogue strip guys. Look forward to more. ;)
Lovely bit of Rogue there; bring on the next part!
Lovely Rogue story - Broughtontacular!
There was a massive, massive fight at work yesterday and me and the colleagues had a tipple or twenty to recover from it so I didn't get to work on mine last night - hopefully have it done and up afore the weekend is out!
Jon's Dirty Frank card is absolutely fantastic. Love the baubles in the beard. Very now as well
More classy contributions.
Dirty Christmas indeed!
Some fantastic stuff yet again! I forgot to mention my love of the Dredd on Lawmaster toy. That's the kind if thing I would have eschewed Star Wars figures for back in my early teens!!
That Xmas tree Dreddis great! I have one of those munniki? munnkin? things kicking around unpainted somewhere - you have inspired me to dig it out and have a go! The ears might suit an Ukko perhaps.
The Dirty Frank pic is great, and the non-scrot pic made me laugh too. That breast must be totally photoshopped!! ;)
Sterling work from Megabus - it's so great to see Rogue back in action again. I'm really looking forward to how this story pans out!

Very creepy Judge Death by CFM
Loving this years Calendar folks
Some incredible contributions across all mediums
This is just getting better and better! Love everything so far.
That said, I haven't read the Rogue pages yet - tempting as it is - because I want to save them up and read them all at the end. I expect I'll probably enjoy the story even though it's written by Richmond Clements!

Tiplodicus! - That's really great, some really nice detail too.
Albion - Another great decoration for your 2000atree
eamonn1961 - Looks good enough to eat
JayzusB.Christ - Amazing work. Might have to head into Dublin to see it in the flesh. And a very generous offer too.
Jon - Wow, that is absolutely stunning.
CrazyFoxMachine & SKD - Terrifying, but in a very good way.
pictsy - Fantastic work.
Lovely work Pictsy.
Really fantastic stuff this week, I enjoy this calendar so much. One thing does bother me: why can't we have a Rogue Trooper story this good in the Prog?
So the good stuff keeps coming! I missed the Dredd gingerbread men earlier - the taste of Justice! A Xmassy prize Judge Pal might dish out for dobbing in parents who give stolen items as seasonal gifts.
Nice Durham there Pictsy! Nothing like a splash of Red at Xmas !
Loving the Rogue Trooper story. I always wondered what happened during their training, and am very curious to see how this tale ends.
The wrong Xmas prezzies strip is very funny! Gene's fly swatter really made me chuckle.
QuoteWhat's that? I forgot all about this until last night, then churned this rubbish out in a couple of hours? Ridiculous!!!
 I loved your strip, Spaceghost, but that made me laugh even more.
And Rogue is getting better and better. 'Synth' as a swearword? Now that's new!
Thanks to everyone for the kind words, I'm glad you liked my contribution.
The advent calender is proving to be a wealth of excellent stuff, looking forward to more :D
Great stuff all. Vid about a jimp... Perfect crap gift.
Too much good new stuff to comment on individually so I'm just gonna say:
Top notch all round.
Loved that, Space ghost. Very funny indeed!
Cheers Space ghost. They were all good but the Shakara gag made me laugh the most. :D
Oh my god - Death with his seasonal bag if skulls!! How did I miss that?!? Excellent stuff!
Mine will be up later today, sorry for the delay ;)
Sorry, spuggers, but i have been supoer busy this year and haven't had time to do my bit.
If time permits and creativity strikes I will add something.
No worries, BCB.
Lovely stuff from Dash Decent and Hippy!
Also more creamy Nu-Earth goodness. Really enjoying this year's calendar!
Nice poster, Larf
Cool contributions from Dash and Hippy. Larf, that's a beautiful bit of design, love it!
The helmet as the number two! Inspirational, Larf! Let's hope it comes true.

Only noticed the 2 now! Brilliant! I really, really wish that was a real poster
Sorry I was so tired last night I postd this on the wrong thread....
Dash and Hippynumber1's contributions were certainly festive and fun. Larf's Dredd 2 poster is eye catching and clever. Really lovely stuff from everyone. :D
My image is basically what I wanted to post in the 'Gods and Monsters' thread for the monthly art comp but never got round to creating due to other work. So when the calendar came up thought I'd do it anyway and Xmas it up a bit. Admittedly it lost loads of the Xmas elements the more I hit it with the art hammer, but that's life.
Also never try and do an 'O'Neill' it's v-tiring. :)
Dunk!
Dunk!
Just stunning.
We are also getting some interest thanks to:
Richard over at the FPI Blog (http://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/blog/2014/fpi-advent-calendar-day-18-2000ad-forum-craziness/)
Dunk! I'll call it now you are Roger Langridge...
... oh hold on I've met you and you not...
...damnit...
... either way that's bloomin' magnificent.
The work on the advent calendar just continue to astonish. I am jealous of all your talents. Well done!
That's bleeding brilliant, Dunk!
Great great work on here! Much better than the windows on my daughters advent calendar.
Rogue Trooper story is coming along nicely, can't wait to read it again in full. Loved Jon's card (still don't get the joke concerning the nonscrots card, but then I am slow...) SKD and CFM's Death is full of the christmas cheer
Lovely image by Pictsy and great humour by SpaceGhost, Dash Decent and hippynumber1. Let's hope LARF's dream becomes a reality, wicked poster. And finally Dunk's image in a O'Neill style with the Christmas tweak is full of energy. Can imagine that O'Neill's style looks easier to produce than it actually is.
More loveliness tomorrow... :)

Jon's picture is much nicer to look at.
Thanks for the info Dandontdare, least I don't feel so dumb now.
B/W Does rule Dunk, thats all kinds of awesome. :)

The picture of that woman gained notoriety as it was supposed to have 'broken the internet' at around the time the human race managed to steer something the size of a washing machine onto a comet. Shortly after, one of the dudes responsible for possibly the greatest scientific achievement of all time was lambasted for wearing a shirt covered in semi-naked anime ladies.
I hope that gives the whole thing some context.
Want to know how crazy my life is? I'll tell you how crazy my life is; I forgot about the 2000ad Advent Calendar. Seriously, I need to sort this shiz out!
Great stuff from everyone as usual, but specific mentions for megabus for his ongoing strip (again!), that Dunk character for somethign truly Zarjaz and Jaysis B. Christ for painting Kennedy's windies - I love that pub!
M.
Right then Firstly excellent work all around get again. As I mentioned previously I can't wait to see what each day brings. Which leads me onto my entry. At present about 50% complete and am working on it now. Realistically I think I will be submitting late tomorrow just not sure if I will be able to do add much as I wanted. If it is any consolation I am really happy with my entry and think it is some of the best digital work I have done so far!
Lovely Judge Death Amines2058, very festive. :)
Cheers megabus, just keep rogue coming I am loving it. :)
Nicely done, Mr Amines2058.
Excellent stuff
Lava bombs make excellent stocking stuffers! :D
Cheery Judge Death, who would've thought it?
Lovely image amines2058!
Blackmocco, your Walter piccy brought a festive smile to my face. It reminded me of the Walter the Wobot one page stories in the early progs...but a more adult version. :D
Really loved Walter there; it cracked me up, and also reminded me of quite a few friends!
Great Rogue tale too. It's been a good year for the calendar
Great job everyone, especially Team Zarjaz :) I had just gotten thru the part in Rogue where they are going through a similar recollection of events, so good stuff.
More brilliant stuff, love Walter, 'Santa' and Marshal Metta. The Rogue story has been an absolute treat every day, the first thing I click to, sorry to see it end. Proper GFD Rogue with vibrant visuals. Well done all!
Mimikeke, that's a brilliant cartoony Lawson.
And a Dredd Frozen crossover? Absolutely. Let it go
Finally calming down towards Chrimble.
There's some lush artwork on here, love Dunk's Nemesis - the linework is sublime, Megabus continues to keep us entertained, Anime's Death is genius and everyone's entries are quite, quite brilliant (it amazes me that every year they remain so creative and so imaginative that it's a testament to the breadth of characters and history that 2000AD has to offer), but so far it's Mimikeke's Lawson that tickles me, it's so cute!
Lovely stuff hive!
Just sayin. Thanks for the comments. I'll post my other half later tonight!

Ah, Mimikeke- that's superb.
My favourite time of the year for the board...
Got a nice selection of pros lined up for tomorrow too...
What will your wife say!
Probably: Do you want me to polish your helmet before you go out Pete?
Terrific stuff from everyone - particularly impressed by Team Zarjaz, MikeD, JayzusB.Christ, Spaceghost, Mimikeke and James Dilworth. And I know it's not a competition, but I have to single out Jon's Dirty Frank, CFM/SKD's Judge Death, LARF's beautifully simple and eye-catching poster and Mike Carroll's joyous Cambermeg Green. Checking the thread every day has been a real treat - sincere thanks to Pete and all the contributors!
Some beauties since I last checked in. Love Mimikekes and James Dilworths efforts especially. Both so, so good. Best calendar ever!

treating yourself for christmas ? ;)
PJ's Dredd piccy really hit the spot...thanks PJ.
Really great Metta Lawson image by Mimikeke, a lovely feminine touch to the thread. :)
Steve's Torquemada Christmas tree is beautiful in its simplicity of idea and image.
I loved the festive picture of Judge Russel too, great fun.
Terrific Dredd painting by James Dilworth...must dig my acrylics out. ;)
Really looking forward to Mr. Wells posting up all the goodies from the pro's...can't wait!!!! :D
Spaceghost - Awesome, several big laughs from that.
Dash Decent - Nice work, big smile on my face after that.
hippynumber1 - Great work.
LARF - Stunning work.
Dunk! - That looks amazing.
amines2058 - Frightfully festive.
blackmocco - Brilliant, that got a really big laugh.
Megabus - You made Rogue great again.
pauljholden - Awesome, really captured the movement in it.
mimikeke - That's adorable.
Steve Green - Very cool.
judgerussell - Very festive.
James Dilworth - Awesome, really love the colours on that.
Brilliant stuff everyone, love the mix! Its a busy time of the year and everyone that has taken the time to do this, pat on the back, Megabus and Co especially.
Two images that have stood out for me is Dunks Nemesis, and Mimikeke's Lawson, perfect for the telly. No slight on anyone else, from Iceskating Judges and singing inter-dimensional fiends, great job.
:o Wow! Just wow... Merry Christmas everyone.
Well wow what a superb start to the festivities, brilliant contributions all round and so cool to so many pros getting engaged with the fun. Thanks to one and all for contributing.
The biggest thanks of course is reserved for the wonderful, glorious, mighty Pete 'Santa' Wells for starting and organising this stupendous treat for us all.
Hear, hear.
.
Another wonderful Advent Calendar providing further proof, if any were needed, that this is coolest place on the web. Thank you all, each and every one, for putting in the time and effort that has given me such enjoyment over the past month. Great work, everyone, really blummin' properly great work.
.
And a Merry Christmas to all my fellow Squaxx, may your festivities be joyful and your New Year fat with promise!
Brilliant work all round.
Lovely positivity and support from all the comments.
And excellent concept by Mr Pete Wells who does both this and his fabby covers blog, a true KTT if ever there was one.
Loads of lovely colour and pro work to finish, great stuff folks.
Good to see my old studio mate Simon Bennett Hayes image which shows great minds think alike. Hi Simon if you lurk here!
Hmm colour... I wonder...
Dunkmas!
What a feast for the face that was :D Well done everyone it's been a fantabulous year for the advent calendar!
Wow that last pic by Jake. F'ing amazing. My favorite so far!
Superb stuff by all who donated their time and skills to bring smiles to the insanity that sometimes is this mighty forum!
Lots of fantastic stuff on the calendar again this year, but I particularly want to praise Patrick Goddard's Merry Xmassss - I'm sure those snowmen are a nod to Calvin & Hobbes. Oh, and the Bob Kane picture - beautiful!
Sorry for double post but just wanted to thank everyone this year for putting up with my silly doodles and answering all my questions. It's been fun getting into the comics.
-Emily
P.S. Lemme know if my images were really dark. My monitors are off :(
This has been one great advent calendar! Thanks for everyone's hard work. It is much appreciated! Merry Christmas all! :)
wow!
what a fantastic last day of contributions
Defeated by my workload again, but the advent calendar has been just fantastic and has kept me entertained all month. Huge thanks to both the contributors, and Mr Wells for making it all happen.
Hope you all have great Christmas,
even those of you who are total cunts.
*
Cheers!
Jim
*
:-)
Great stuff everyone! This advent calendar beats any of those cardboard fripperies involving chocolate hands down. What a Xmas treat!
My thanks go to Steve Green who let me butcher several of his awesome photos for my entries, and of course to the awesome Pete Wells for getting it all together!!
Busy month, but just a quick comment to say thanks to everyone for their wonderful contributions - both on the advent calendar and throughout the year - and to wish you and your families a Zarjaz Christmas. Cheers!
'Sigh' Looks like I'll have to upload my entry to the normal art thread. That or use a low res picture via my IPhone.
Brilliant stuff by everyone involved! (Damn, why haven't I got an ounce of talent in me, :-( ).
Not wishing to single anyone out, as a sterling job was done by all, but I think we need to see minikeke in the prog after seeing that Hershey!
But grand stuff all.
Too much great stuff from the Pro's and amateurs alike. Loved Mimikeke's young Hershey though, powerful yet subdued...
Roll on 2015, let's hope it's a good one.
That Hershey is astounding :o
Also that Sauchie name bingo is, without hyperbole, the best thing I've ever seen.
Some incredible stuff there; it's been an amazing year!
Yeah, loved that Sauchie Bingo too.
Mimikeke, you're outstanding - your simple but beautiful artwork was some of my favourite in this year's calendar. Thought you couldn't top your Judge Lawson but with your Hershey you've managed it. Hope to see you doing prog covers some day. Also glad you've confirmed you are indeed female, rather than what I originally thought you were: a bloke called Mike (albeit a bloke called Mike with nice nails).

Rogue strip needs special mention, the hard work is really appreciated. Fans of Megabus should go pick up
Martillo, a highly entertaining read :)
By Grud's holy trousers that was good. It really is the thread of the year.
Well done everyone.
Let's do it all again next Christmas. :D
Just picking up on the last few, all wonderful. Mimikeke SHOULD be doing a cover or 2. BOLT 01 get that girl onto the Zarjaz and Dog Breath rapidmont!! Z
This thread has even surpassed the greatness of last year's calendar. A wonderful effort from all involved. Merry drokkin Christmas to yer all!
That Hershey is great, would love to see Mimikeke tackle a cover...

tremendous stuff , looked foward everyday to seeing a new entry, well done on all those who took part :P
Drokking Dreddmas everyone
Great effort all round
I love this Forum :D
Ladies and gents, I always feel guilty about how much I enjoy the forum advent calendar, when I lack the talent or wit to make a useful contribution to it. So please believe me when I thank you all for a genuine daily treat every day this month, it's been even more fantastic than usual.

Hah. This made my day. Thanks for the support, guys. The Hershey pic is more in line with my day job, the cute stuff is just a fun style I'm trying out.
Merry Christmas board
i have little time to play here these days, but i always return for the advent calendar.
outstanding year after year,
Merry christmas one and all.
this always has been and always shall be, the greatest place on the WWW.
DD :)
Merry Christmas Citizens! This was a fantastic calendar! Cheers!
A Belated Merry Christmas to You All!
and Grud bless us, Everyone
Hi really great to see the amount of talent and the enthusiasm that 2000 AD still generates.
Mine was the Nemesis / Torquemada image posted by Bolt- 01. Hi Dunk I am indeed a lurker although now I can post I will lurk less. Good to see you love the art God O'Neil as much as me.
Love the seasonal feast that is the 2000AD forum advent calendar and would like to wish everyone a fantastic new year! Cheers to the legendary Pete Wells for the organisation of this. If we ever meet, I'll treat you to a Greg's pasty and a pint!
I was one of the winners of Jayzus competition.
Here is my prize. It's zarjaz!

That is class.
Not only is it a hell of a great thing for Jayzus to do, it's like Bryan Talbot and SMS were merged in a transporter accident! Zarjaz!
Mine arrived too and has been found a spot on the Shelf of Col Stuff.

Thanks Jayzus, this was a wonderfully generous prize and I love it!
Hey, I've just had a thought - this means that four people now own a piece of Dredd memorabilia that Burdis hasn't got! Bwahahahaha!
I've got my... Little red card from the postie! I'll be able to pick it up on Wednesday night, can't wait!!!
It's not official, so I'd keep quiet if I were you lot ;)
Quite a difference between a bespoke piece of art as a gift and buying illegally made action figures.
:)
Glad you like them, fellas!
QuoteHey, I've just had a thought - this means that four people now own a piece of Dredd memorabilia that Burdis hasn't got! Bwahahahaha!
Three, in fact.
There can only be three.
YAY!!! My plate came! Thanks Jaysus, I love it!!!
Brilliant! Quite honestly, it's an honour for me to see that you guys like them and are displaying them with your other prog memorabilia. Next December: Nemesis knives, Fear forks and Sláine spoons to go with them. (Note: There will not be any Nemesis knives, Fear forks or Sláine spoons.)
Not even a salt cellar of Dredd? Z
Or Citizen Spork.
Sorry.
Forquemada crossed my mind, but I think it was in the nerve centre in the 80s once. Besides, I was going for an alliteration theme rather than puns, and didn't want to s stray from it. What's that? Have I a girlfriend? Not right at the moment, why do you ask?
