I totally agree.  Ichabod Azrael, for example, should stay as is.

Seconded

I'd add Insurrection & Lawless are another 2 B&W classics that should never be touched with colours

Started "ECHO" it's more violent than some of the Disney Marvel, a bit more on the level of the Netflix Marvel which I enjoyed more.

I'm my view the saving grace is when Fisk is on screen. Vincent D'Onofrio is a fantastic Fisk and just fills the screen

Overall it fills some down time but won't need to do a rewatch

Quote from: Le Fink on 01 February, 2024, 11:26:18 AMHear hear. I'd like a proper ending to the movie.

Having said that, a TV series of several separate adventures of Rogue wandering Nu Earth would work well too. Standalone film followed by TV series please!

A type of "clone wars" series called Tales from Nu-Earth where you don't have to have Rogue in every episode

Quote from: Trooper McFad on 01 February, 2024, 08:28:27 AMI really don't think a 1 and done film would do the story justice.

They're going to stay true to the original — they'll keep churning out films until the franchise has completely run out of steam, then they'll do a gritty reboot, then they'll try and mash the gritty reboot into the original continuity until no one either knows or cares what the hell is going on...

Nooooooo I don't relish a trip to Fort Neuro (or Horst)

What's everyone's hope for the storyline?
We know they are going down the massacre and traitor route but as fans we know this could easily be put into at least 2 films if not 3. There's so many side missions to track the traitor down I really don't think a 1 and done film would do the story justice.

My hope is there's a decent first film but the traitor just gets away and leaves it open for films 2 & 3

I also don't want to see the traitor unless he's disfigured.

Finally I don't want anymore than 3 films if it follows the massacre/traitor arc.

But that's just my wishes

What's yours?

Le Fink - Being your first con you won't have anything to compare it with however for me it's the best I've been at. I've been at a few larger ones that have the TV and film stars but they are not a patch on this (in my view) and what I hear the other smaller ones are just as good.

I have to say my first Lawless I was "star struck" even more so than the 40th bash. I don't know why a man in his late 40s at the time should be like this but the friendly nature of the whole thing puts you at ease very quickly.
Maybe it's all the Cosplayers milling about?

As Jim says it never starts dead on 9:00 - not the times I've been.

The panels are great and varied- one not to miss if they have it is the Artist Draw off.

Remember to post on here any distinguishing features/clothing so you can be spotted in the crowd.

As for accommodation if you have a lot to get signed and your budget allows I'd recommend the Hilton so you can keep returning to the room but there's a few others well within walking distance I've heard are pretty decent price wise.

Read your review and you always bring these adventures to life.

Do you write the review (or at least take short hand notes) as you go or is it all off memory at the end?

As much as you highlighted the downsides of this game I still enjoyed the read through.

Hope you enjoy your next book more and I'll look forward to the review.

Quote from: Max Headroom on 27 January, 2024, 02:16:51 PMI hope to see more of the classic 2000ad strips given this treatment.

Now there is a Rogue Trooper underway, let's see what that brings.
I second that - I want a HC web shop exclusive covers - love these editions.

Only thing is 1 a year for SD is dragging it out for us elderly members 😳😂😂

Well fellow squaxx its a New Year and I'm still bashing Marvel/DC 12 inch figures, although I won't be going at the same pace as last year (maybe every other month)

The first of the year is a mashup of a falcon figure i picked up on eballs as the tight suit fitted the uniform of this Titan of the game Areoball - I give you Giant of Harlem Heros - floating in mid air.

As usual the extra stuff is a mix of milliput and air dry clay. shaped, moulded and sanded into shape. I was in 2 minds on whether to paint him monochrome or colour but as you can I plumped for colour and I'm glad I did.

I did think about posing him standing with the ball under his arm but I saw some expensive figures online who were "floating" and I thought I'd give it a go and again I'm happy with the results.

Another issue I had to over come was the eyewear. I thought about some coloured plastic but it would never have worked as good as my final choice of buying snow goggles for the 1/6th scale figures you can buy online - eballs is full of wee accessories for this and I will be hunting through that again sometime in the future. The ball is a 1/6 scale basketball which i pinned to his hand. As you will see in the photos I've left one hand as movable. I like doing this just to give them a different style now and again.

Hope you enjoy the results as much as I do  :D

Well, a Rogue Trooper movie is always going to have a more limited audience than a Spiderman movie, and the same thing applies whether the movie is live action or animated. But I don't think the Spider-verse movies are seen as lesser than the live action Spidey films in the same way that the animated DC movies are when compared to their live action counterparts.

I preferred a lot of Batman animated to the Batman live action ((Batman & Robin 😡) and really liked Batman Beyond (or "of the future" in the UK)

At last Colin one I've actually read 😂 loved the review- I'll have to do a reread for myself as I've not read it in years see if it holds up on a full read.

Absolutely brilliant
Going animated is probably a wise decision and a "big" budget movie was probably always out with the financial reach of rebellion.

The interesting part will be what platform it's going to be released on first?

I hope I'm not reading too much into it but final few words from Jason are interesting
"...combines beautiful storytelling from our 2000AD Comic-book universe... We cannot wait for every to see these incredible stories brought to life onscreen."

🤞🏻🤞🏻 More projects to come (if Rogue is a success obviously)
