Well fellow squaxx its a New Year and I'm still bashing Marvel/DC 12 inch figures, although I won't be going at the same pace as last year (maybe every other month)

The first of the year is a mashup of a falcon figure i picked up on eballs as the tight suit fitted the uniform of this Titan of the game Areoball - I give you Giant of Harlem Heros - floating in mid air.

As usual the extra stuff is a mix of milliput and air dry clay. shaped, moulded and sanded into shape. I was in 2 minds on whether to paint him monochrome or colour but as you can I plumped for colour and I'm glad I did.

I did think about posing him standing with the ball under his arm but I saw some expensive figures online who were "floating" and I thought I'd give it a go and again I'm happy with the results.

Another issue I had to over come was the eyewear. I thought about some coloured plastic but it would never have worked as good as my final choice of buying snow goggles for the 1/6th scale figures you can buy online - eballs is full of wee accessories for this and I will be hunting through that again sometime in the future. The ball is a 1/6 scale basketball which i pinned to his hand. As you will see in the photos I've left one hand as movable. I like doing this just to give them a different style now and again.

Hope you enjoy the results as much as I do  :D

Film & TV / Re: Rogue Trooper News…!

Well, a Rogue Trooper movie is always going to have a more limited audience than a Spiderman movie, and the same thing applies whether the movie is live action or animated. But I don't think the Spider-verse movies are seen as lesser than the live action Spidey films in the same way that the animated DC movies are when compared to their live action counterparts.

[/quote]

I preferred a lot of Batman animated to the Batman live action ((Batman & Robin 😡) and really liked Batman Beyond (or "of the future" in the UK)

At last Colin one I've actually read 😂 loved the review- I'll have to do a reread for myself as I've not read it in years see if it holds up on a full read.

Absolutely brilliant
Going animated is probably a wise decision and a "big" budget movie was probably always out with the financial reach of rebellion.

The interesting part will be what platform it's going to be released on first?

I hope I'm not reading too much into it but final few words from Jason are interesting
"...combines beautiful storytelling from our 2000AD Comic-book universe... We cannot wait for every to see these incredible stories brought to life onscreen."

🤞🏻🤞🏻 More projects to come (if Rogue is a success obviously)

Quote from: Jim_Campbell on 29 January, 2024, 11:30:42 AMI'll be mooching around all weekend, making the place look untidy. As usual, I don't have a table — just look out for The Gothest Man In The Room™, and that will almost certainly be me. And 'The Room' will almost certainly be the bar. :)

Although I'm not tabling, I am a guest, so if you want anything signing or just want to say hello, please do. Don't worry about interrupting if it looks like I'm talking to someone — they'll probably be delighted for an opportunity to make their escape...
I've definitely seen you mooching about 😂😂😂😂

Quote from: lordmockingbird on 27 January, 2024, 08:26:17 PMThank you all. I forgot to look if the extension was present!

I have a few irons in the fire on getting old progs. I think I'll focus on new ones later. I'm really into the time machine effect.

I would love to try some art this year!

I always love reading old progs (early to mid eighties) as they have a unique "smell" which transports me back to those carefree days

I look forward to seeing some art on the Xmas Advent. In the meantime if you want you can post art on the thread in "creative common" called " Does my art look big in this"
Have a look if you haven't already there's some cracking art from us humble fans - well worth a scroll through

COLIN why is this not put on the recent Advent? You must have done this a good few years ago before I joined!

I'll listen to this tomorrow and I'll expect you to post this on this year's Advent when the time come 👍🏻🎅🏻

Hi lordmockingbird

Welcome to this board. It's a friendly place and you are welcome to join in on the Xmas Advent in December. ( I'm the pest who keeps annoying boarders to join in the festive spirit come December - if you can draw/write/make models or just create anything 2000AD Xmas related then just pick a day in December and post)

Anyway have you been able to pick up much other 2000AD past or present Thrills?

When we get newbies on board it's always good to know what they like best as us auld gits are mostly set in our ways but Tharg continues to produce new thrills which keeps us entertained and coming back for more

That's the tickets bought and I've splashed out on the VIP tickets which gets me and the very good lady into a special prize giving for 10 years of Lawless (as well as the 2 days of the con)
So looking forward to this it's always been brilliant the few times I've dragged the better half down to Bristol.

Now looking forward to meeting up with Barrington Boots and his good lady again 🤞🏻

If anyone else on the board is able to go it would be good to say Hi and put a face to the names.

17 weeks today 😁

I'm sure I've read that he has said this, and that's why she went hooded for much of the previous series!

This will be a challenge when I eventually get round to do a model Wrath 😳. And of course Bode

Nice mini summary to keep me right.

This must be keeping your grey matter on overtime to remember (in some depth)how each of these "runs" inspired you!

Excellent stuff I look forward to the next batch 👍🏻😁
