Hi there.
Just got back into 2000ad after a 8-9 year hiatus, and it's good to be back. Started reading around prog 500 and gave up in the early 1100s when I moved house and the local paper shop messed up my order. I'll try and fill in the gaps in my collection, but what have I missed in the world of Dredd? The last major storyline I remember reading was The Pit. What progs since do I have to read to catch up (other than all of them). Also I've been re-reading early Dredd thanks to the new edition Case Files. Will they be covering Megazine content when it gets that far do we know or is it just week by week prog reprints.

Welcome. I had about an eight year gap too. I was lucky enough to receive a whole bundle of those missing progs from DarkJimbo who frequents these boards (Thanks Jim). In order to get myself up to speed with the current story lines I've read all the progs from 2007 to date and they're awesome - seriously good stuff.

On reflection, I think, 'Kingdom' by Dan Abnett and Richard Elson has to be my favourite discovery of this period. Although the brilliant Nikolai Dante is definitely a highlight of every prog he's in.

Dreddwise I think mainly you've missed the appearance of a new 'Rico' (a new clone of Dredd himself, one of the clones from the Dredd-Angel storyline way back in the 300s), Total War and the Origins storyline all of which have had some serious consequences on Dredd and his world. These are available in reprints and ones I bought before getting back into buying the weekly prog. There is so much more too...

So much has happened and I realized that in order to really catch up I had to start again, from before where I stopped - So I've been reading from issue 2000 and now I'm up to 1209 and I'm enjoying it all thoroughly. Oh, Johnny Alpha got a restart, that's pretty major. Deadlock's about to get his own series... Sinister Dexter are much better than I remember - it's all great quality stuff.

Definitely worth getting back into with both feet I think. I've been back into it for about six months now and I'm really enjoying collecting 2000AD again.
