(Japanese for 'long time no see'). Hi there! It's a long time since I've been about the board. Thought I'd drop in and say hello.
Wasn't Prog 1631 awesome? It inspired me to come back here.
Me, I'm still living in Melbourne, still reading the progs. I lost a ton of weight after a health scare a year or so back (the health scare drove me to a diet-and-exercise frenzy). I'm now qualified as a high school teacher and am teaching English to adult migrants whilst scheming to inflict myself on the the High School population here. Oh and I'm studying some Philosophy, partly for phun, partly for professional development.
How are you all? What's new?
cheers

I'm a woman.
Welcome back Floyd.
Hi Kerrin, howdy Godpleton, how is life in MK?
Good to see Devons Daddy still around.
Welcome back Floyd. Sounds like things are going well your side, i hope Melbourne is starting to recover after the fires.

lots, the new layout is good, once your used to it,
but overall its still a fine place to talk nonsense, feel a sense of community, laugh and share.
as it always has been.
finest place on the www. and yes the progs are outstanding currently. how they keep such levels up is testament to its brillance and good stewardship over the years.
Welcome back Floyd! I thought you'd been a long time in the lav alright.
The near future, a classroom in the Sydney-Melbourne Conurb: "Your homework this week, and every week, is to write a letter to Tharg".
Welcome back from the wilderness, Floyd!
word, y'all. Thanks for the friendly greetings. I have never stopped reading the progs of course, so in that respect I've been around.
The bushfires were pretty bad, although thankfully nowhere near my house. Things are settling down a bit now, although quite a few people are still homeless. Otherwise Melbourne is still a fun place to live - drought-stricken, but fun.
cheers

Holy crap, Floyd's back? I love the Floyd!!
in a spirit of welcoming me back, could anyone sum up how the board has changed? I could look around myself, but since you're all so nice.....
- can we still chat?
- can people still be 'killfiled'f? (just wondering)
- did they ever clear up that vague commandment to be respectful when describing stories one doesn't care for?
- which if any of the new whizz bang features are the most useful/awesome?
yours wonderingly,
Floyd
Hello Mr Kermode.
You and I had a few letters published in the same progs, back when you were at your most prolific. I think I may have even had a couple printed from when I was in Japan at the same time as you and landed up with two letters in that prog from Japan.
I never reached the same level of publication as you though. I think there was one month where you had a letter each week and scored a higher word count than John Wagner and Tharg combined!!
Join the Church of Floyd, for he is our prophet.
- Trout
I'm a shadow of my former Japan-dwelling self, fifty, but still loving the progs, especially recently. I saw Death Note last night, reminding me of the days in Nippon.
Is the Trout still king?
We still let him think he's King, yes.
Hello, by the way.
