Hi there. I used to post here ages ago. You may remember me. Or you may not. Anyway, these days I'm kind of not on the net much, because I write RPGs for White Wolf.

My reasons for coming back are mercenary. I've got some eBay auctions going that might interest you:

Titan Zenith Book 3 (1989, reprinted 2nd half of Phase 2)
Young Death: Boyhood of a Superfiend

All of them start at 99p. I've got a pile more waiting to be listed.

Classifieds / thought you might want to know...

Hi all. Been a while. Hope everyone's happy and well-adjusted.

Anyway, just swinging through to say that I am selling a mate's collection of 2000AD stuff on eBay - not my own -  including on this round the original Titan printing of Nemesis 7 and Nemesis 8. Thought you'd be interested.

Classifieds / Thought you guys might like to know...

...that apart from all those FHMs I found in my attic that time (which have mostly gone - don't underestimate the power of Martine McCutcheon), I've been asked by a friend to sell on eBay (I've got a better feedback profile and I'm getting commission. Which is nice) their entire run of Meg vol. 1, the first few vol2 Megs, some best ofs, some issues of Crisis, a couple of Revolvers, some specials, and 2000ADs from 616-803 (obviously they won't fetch much, but hey, I'm only selling em for 50p each).

There's some Deadlines, and a couple issues of Blast! too.

Haven't got all of it up yet, but I will in the next week or so.

Anyway, if any of you guys are interested...

Anyone know where I can get hold of a copy of issue 14 (and maybe issue 15 too) of bonkers 90s style mag Mondo 2000?

eBay appears to have drawn a blank.

Hunt Emerson is now drawing Little Plum in the Beano.

I kid you not.

The proposition:

"Without a system of formal constraints, there is no creativity; there is only change." - Noam Chomsky.

The evidence to support the proposition:

Pat Mills on Ro-Busters, The Cursed Earth, Sky Chariots, The ABC Warriors Mars Story vs. Pat Mills on that Crap French Vampire Story or every Slaine story since the Horned God;

and

Grant Morrison on Animal Man, Doom Patrol, Zenith, early JLA vs. Grant Morrison on The Filth.

Now discuss, culture vultures.

General / Anyone want this for nothing?
22 January, 2003, 03:28:14 PM
I moved house recently (why I've not been around much for the last couple months), and last week, I went a snooping in my new attic for the first time.

In there I found a budgie cage, two (disconnected) closed circuit cameras, and two crates stuffed with old copies of Loaded and FHM (which, as you may know, is like Loaded, only with glossier paper which you can wipe clean). Never having read these organs, I was interested to doscover that they seemed to be written entirely by twelve-year-olds with dirty minds.

This gives me the profile of the previous owner of Wood Towers being a bird-loving voyeur with very bad eyesight and RSI, incidentally.

So most of them are in pretty good condition (and imagine my surprise when I found out that they go on eBay for 3 or 4 quid a time. Ker-ching, I thought).

Anyway, one of the copies of Loaded, dating to 1997, has a sizeable feature about 2000AD's 20th anniversary in it. To be honest, I just want to get rid of the things (my wife's attitude is, it's soft porn, and I should be burning it, not selling it)... so if anyone wants this particular issue (I'll try and attach a cover pic at the bottom of this post) just ask... and I'll send it you. http://www.btinternet.com/~johnheronproject/images/loaded2kad2.jpg">

OK, Mat. You were right. It's wicked. That's ?2.20 I owe you.

Anyone else seen this? Warren Ellis, Garry Leach, top-secret world-saving organisation with a 1001 members, like Thunderbirds without the big machines... It rocks.

Anybody seen this? It's under the Submissions section.

More importantly, any of you artists feel like drawing some of the scripts on offer?

General / Simon Coleby in decent artwork shocker!
03 September, 2002, 06:27:06 PM
What's happened to Simon Coleby?

In the new Rogue story, he's produced some really nice artwork? Is this the same guy who used to be so incredibly crap back in the 90s?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Website and Forum / Question about post formatting

On a whim, I included an >i> tag in one of my posts last week... and it worked.

So... what html are we allowed in posts, Wake?

General / The Either/Or Game
24 June, 2002, 03:52:17 PM
It's easy enough to understand. Someone posts up an either/or conundrum, and the nerson answers it and posts one of their own, ad nauseam.

So, for example, I could post:

Grant Morrison or Pat Mills?

and the next person (if they were of the same tendency as me) could put:

Grant Morrison.

And then post another either/or conundrum.

So, to begin:

Shakara or Shakira?
