Film & TV / Robocop "prototype"
12 December, 2006, 01:43:02 PM
Apologies if this has come up before.

I've never been one for watching the "making of" extras on dvds but knowing that Robocop was influenced by Dredd I thought Id pop it on and have a look. At one point one of the conceptual art guys shows a "prototype" model of robocop. I use the quotations since it's actually a model of Dredd, yet somehow no-one on the whole feature mentions this...

I noticed that Nightwatch is finally out here on DVD. Has anyone seen it? Is it any good? Basically, is it worth buying?

General / Alien vs Predator
11 October, 2004, 06:36:49 PM

I didnt want to post another negative post as most of my posts are rants about something, but I couldnt hold back...

This movie is trash. I couldnt believe how you could possibly take aliens and, like, predators and make something quite as awful. Plot holes (huge), logical leaps (immense), shit direction, choppy action (what there is of it) and almost non-existent characters. Rubbish aliens (bug-like, more akin to the dog-alien thing in alien3), rubbish predators (like WWF stars), rubbish alien queen (T-rex from jurassic park) just rubbish!

That said, you have to see it, if only out of morbid curiosity. Like watching a train wreck.

Oh, immediately afterwards I saw Resident Evil: Apocalypse which Im not going to say anything about - I wouldnt know where to start.

Grumble, grumble - Hex.

I declared I was going this year to some recenently made friends only to find out it was the same weekend as one of their birthdays! Gah! So now Im off out for a meal and a dance*. Ill have to endevour to fall out with them :o)

*Read: "off out for a meal and then home 'cos Ill be f*ck*d if Im going to some shite club. Im not single! There's nothing in it for me! Dancing isnt enjoyable! Its rubbish and science has proved it."

Having successfully given up smoking recently, Ive found there's something...lacking in my life. Earlier today I tried to make ammends with ten custard doughnuts. The past couple of weeks have been littered with similar incidents but this is the worst yet. Please advise....

Went to see the new movie last night and really enjoyed it. It seemed more  dramatically rounded and complete as a movie. I dunno if its owt like the book (and Ill never know...) but its a billion times better than the other two. And it has an extremely well done element of time travel....

Off Topic / But Starbuck's a girl...!
22 April, 2004, 11:19:00 PM

Aye aye all. Have any of you have seen the new battlestar gallactica pilot episode? A friend and BG enthusiast left it at mine the other day and I finally got round to seeing it and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! And I liked the female starbuck!

Has judgement been passed on this topic already? Have I just shamed myself?

Just curious,
