Those of you who enjoyed 'The Handmaids Tale' might like the newest Margaret Atwood tv adaption that's coming to Netflix at the start of November.

Looks like another Atwood laugh riot.
It's a great book but, yeah, it's not exactly light and cheerful.
I couldn't bring myself to watch the adaptation of The Handmaid's Tale, but I think I'll watch this.
I'm re-reading The Handmaids Tale at the moment and I think the tv adaption really brings the book to life in ways that I could not have imagined. The descriptions can be sparse as June herself struggles to really recapture her experiences. I have just read Alias Grace and it's an intriguing novel in itself before you begin to contemplate it's a novel about memory and the formation of a narrative. Grace's only real power in the novel is the withholding of information about her experience and I'm interested to see how this translates onto screen. I suppose they will have to show multiple versions of the same event to recreate that doubt and confusion in the viewer.
