JANUARY ART COMP - VOTING THREAD

Bit of a change of rules this month as we've had so many entries outstanding entries - -

Please vote for one FIRST, one SECOND, one THIRD, one FOURTH and one FIFTH place - first will get 5 points, second two points, third one point and so on.
The vote is decided by total points accumulated overall. You can honourably mention up to five other entries and these HMs are used to decide on tied scores so use them wisely and be aware that saying "all other entries" or suchlike won't be counted and therefore won't be helpful to anyone - the final voting deadline is THIS SATURDAY at midnight GMT.

1. Paul Moore - 2012 Movie version of Death - simple, to the point and using the 2012 styling. Love it.
2. Andy Lambert - Dark Judges - staggering piece of work, love the outlines and the drama.
3. James Newell - Fear and Death - nice injection of humour and superb artwork
4. James Dilworth - Sidney - excellent portrait and details.
5. Neil McClements - Fire - disturbing in both subject and just how bloody brilliant this one is.

Honourable Mentions

Podgeman - Death and Anderson - love the visual concept.
Steve Austin - Dark Judges - so much drama, could be ripped straight from the pages of the comic itself

2nd - Steven Austin - Dark Judges Got a very classic look to it.
3rd - Andy Lambert - Dark Judges Lovely colouring.
4th - IAMTHESYSTEM - Dark Judges GC stuff or what? No matter, it's very nice.
5th - eamonn1961 - Tears for Fears First time I saw it, made me proper laugh out loud.

My five have been chosen mainly by originality within the subject, there are too many brilliant standard interpretations in this competition to chose from

1) Hoagy (I love this...it reminds me of original artwork by Ian Miller...even down to the simple text...love it)
2) James Newell (Proper laughed when I saw this and brilliantly executed...top notch)
3) James Dilworth (The only artist who addressed pre-death and boy did he do it well)
4) Paul Moore (I love this slightly toned down movie version and exactly how I thought Death could look like on the big screen)
5) Albion1 (Being an aging DJ I had to include this in my top 5...great idea and top notch application)

Awesome comp this month.

1) Andy Lambert Dark Judges - Dynamic and moody with bonus points for best Mortis face.
2) SKD Mortis - Gruesome in its detail. Lovely.
3) Neil McClements4 Fear - That is some next level shit, right there.
4) Steve Austin Dark Judges - Imposing, stand-out characters (would have liked to see more Mortis though)
5) Paul Moore Movie Judge Death - Simply wonderful.

Incredibly hard to choose so after much thought.

1. SKD - Mortis. Amazing lines! One of my favourite artists and never disappoints.

2. Steven Austin - Dark Judges. That Death is bloomin fantastic.

3. Paul Moore - Movie Judge Death. Great figures, beautifully illustrated.

4. James Dilworth - Sidney. Just glorious, the evil smirk and deathly look in them eyes are so well done.

5. Andy Lambert - Dark Judges. Wouldn't be out of place in the prog.

Great month and as others have said those 10 choices above have been difficult to place and could have looked different quite easily. There are plenty left off the list that could easily have made it in but there was so much great art to choose from. It seems the theme struck a chord with the regulars and brilliantly brought in many new faces who'll hopefully stick around all year to contribute further.
